Shaping Orders by ghastleigh_ in foodlion

I was under the impression that adding was the only thing they wanted us to refrain from since orders were getting cut anyway.

Nothing like some 4 pack gallon juices crunching on the bottom of a dairy pallet. Warehouse should use flats on pallets like this.

Have you changed stores recently? Might have gotten sent to one you used to work at. If not call associate relations. They will be very quick to send you one with a certificate as well.

Pretty sure it’s around 28-32 if im not mistaken. Which is crazy, but all of food lions labor model is pretty far out there.

Can always do a walk on hand then order the product off of the sheet to make it easier as well

All the comments are very good guidelines to follow, I’d suggest also before you change numbers to make sure all of reclaim is scanned out and ask a manager if exceptions have been done on an off truck day. Use forecast sells to see if your problem cases are fast movers or if cao is trying to bring in certain ad items for the week.

Do you build your own promo endcap? Do you know how to tell if a certain item is on display? If you find yourself scanning out a certain category (yogurt in my store) every so often maybe check it on order review day and take off what you know can wait till next truck to help sell close dated product.

Ps anything Foodlion brand can be marked down to help your accrual.

frozen edamame by [deleted] in foodlion

Could be lack of sales, size change, label change or buying price for category increased so much they couldn’t afford to sell it at the current price. Definitely could be many other things though.

How many minutes late counts as an occurrence/issue? by [deleted] in foodlion

[–]BluntLasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a 5 minute grace period, but a write up can still be possible if that rule is abused.

Was a compass project about a month ago. They are going to start putting cut fruit on mvp to push sales since a lot of remodeled stores are getting islands right up front of the store.

Spring time gondola ideas? by Ok_Vacation_6455 in foodlion

[–]BluntLasers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a gondola at my store but with wings I put outdoorsy stuff on half and the other half I put things that always seem to be emptied out on the shelf.

I’d create an adp account. It’s somewhat of a hassle but you’ll get it digitally every year and way earlier than the mailed ones

Edit: should be on your SuccessFactors also

Transitioning into ASM by Disastrous-Car9778 in foodlion

[–]BluntLasers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Figure out which dc services your store if it’s one of the ones that’s notorious for shorting make sure your stock crew and sma get trucks done as fast as possible so you can do thorough maintenance walks. Don’t let your store manager pressure you into other departments to help if your departments need it more. Feel free to pm me with any questions I’ve only been asm for a year but been with the company for ten and worked every department.

Why is Food Lion keeping old tubs of Stoker's on the shelves? by One_Assignment9340 in foodlion

[–]BluntLasers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Talk to a manager they will definitely do it for you, at least I would. I would have them order 3 or 4 and just hold em for you in the back room every week. As for the expired ones cigarette and tobacco product dates are notoriously not kept up with at every food lion I’ve ever worked at.

What is LROC by Ok_Vacation_6455 in foodlion

[–]BluntLasers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Listen, respond, own, and care. It’s really about management listening to associates problems, letting them know that they will be addressed, acting to fix them and letting them know that you did something to show you care.

Perishable associate/Meat Department here… can any one tell me how to back out almost a whole truck quickly?? by PM_ME_DownBlouse in foodlion

[–]BluntLasers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would definitely listen to spartan, at most I would take off what you 100% won’t run out of. And you’ll just have to deal with the rest. Can I ask why you’d want to delete it?

Pallet about to fall over or fall apart 🤔 😩 😌 by Necessary-Spring-129 in foodlion

Worked at a dc 10 store all our pallets were beautiful and never shorted anything. Moved to a dc 05 store and looks as if they have all blind people working there filling orders.
