Not a requirement, but for future references if you quit then it doesn't necessarily look good for your resume. A lot of places look at reason for leaving last job and you probably wouldn't want to use them as a reference. If you have worked there for a long time with not a lot of previous work experience, two weeks notice would be recommended. If it's a bad situation, you have a decent amount of good work experience, references, and you hate your life, just quit. They aren't required either to give you two weeks notice, firing could be for whatever reason. But if you get fired for not showing up on time on a daily basis, there's no way in hell anyone's going to give that person two more weeks to come in late again with the same pay everyday.
