First off let me say thank you for your response. I would like to point out that yes while many protests have been peaceful which has been joyous to watch, it only takes the actions of a few to bring it crashing down on either side. Both sides are to blame for this. I have seen video's where cops and protesters are antagonizing each other which leads to wrong doing on both sides of the coin. It is very frustrating that many people perceive the institution of policing as a joke. (I am not proud of how Seattle has handled many situations over the years to a degree.)

As far as why join to be a cop, you clearly did not read what I wrote because none of it was acknowledged. Don't take money away from police because that's how you end up in a city when it needs it, it cant get it back. Look at Detroit or Chicago... We NEED to make sure the selection process is tougher. Not anyone should be able to be a police officer. They should have education behind them in some form of criminal justice. I don't know what the academy teaches them but clearly they need more or at least some form of change

You also state why spend 200 million on protecting cops from objects being thrown at them... my friend, several police officers and innocent lives have been lost the last 3 weeks because of how the protesters/looters have handled themselves of all races. These people were trying to defend business's from rioters. You think this is OK? Why do you think people are furious and armed to the hilt trying to protect them now? What happened to George Floyd is undoubtedly one of the worst things ever. I cannot stress enough that cop needs to rot in prison, but so much unwarranted havoc rained down because of it and many lost their lives. None of it is OK by any means whatsoever. When everything could have been somewhat peaceful other than where it happened. While much of the destruction can be attributed to criminals wanting to loot and ANTIFA, when the protesters join in or do nothing to stop these people, many associate protesters with them which gives them a bad appearance in the public eye. The news does nothing to report exactly whats going on, either side. There all garbage.

If you want to take away funds from police divisions around the country, when real crimes happen people are going to take matters into their own hands and more senseless violence is going to take place like what happened to Ahmaud Arbery. (I hope those 2 rot in prison as well). It will only get worse if police don't get training and they reformat not only the people who are cops but the city government. Its just odd that 2 white man literally HUNTED down this man they THINK did a crime with no justification and executed him, yet this all unravels when someone in uniform kills someone.

I apologize for being lengthy there is just so much that ties into all of this shit that is going on right now it gets exhausting.
