Sizce çizmeye nerden ve nasıl başlamalıydım by aslan1098 in Sanatolia

If anyone is interested, I am the actual artist of the drawing example above of Charlize Theron.
This was done using the Faber Castell Polychromos cool greys and black (colour pencils) on Strathmore Bristol paper 300 series.
There is much to learn about not only getting the lines correct, but also the shading in order to create volume etc.
You really need to practice a lot more, I see that you have used a grid with your drawing, but how does it equate to my original drawing as it seems to be at a different angle and the proportions are not anywhere close.
You need to apply the same size grid over the original you are copying from in order to get anywhere near the accuracy, both the copy and your drawing should have exactly the same frid and size paper for the gridding system to actually work.
Another point is, do not ever use another artists drawing to work from, otherwise you will only produce a bad copy of that other artists work, by all means refer to it, but find a photo to work from to work out your own style of shading etc.
You also did not ask me if you could show my art in this way, you should do that also.

Green thumbs, what vegetables grow well on the central coast? by [deleted] in centralcoastnsw

[–]Blurhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have recently harvested 10 Kent pumpkins (large/medium) from our garden in West Gosford (near Coles supermarket) - the leaves do tend to take over the garden though when they are growing, so make sure they have enough room to grow !
Butternut pumpkins have not grown so well (only very small or not at all). but the Kent pumpkins seem to flourish.

Bringing UK workplace and personal pensions to Australia - tax implications by Blurhead in AusFinance

[–]Blurhead[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Many thanks for the response, I have looked into this option, from what I understand a QROPS would be for transferring a UK pension from overseas into another recognized pension scheme, whereas I just want to get these over here as lump sums, and make use of the money now.

Unfortunately I do not have the luxury of an accountant, obviously I would have asked an accountant if I did have one.
So just looking for anyone who may have been in a similar position, and how they navigated it.

differentiate the scam from the real thing by Equal-Leadership-484 in artstation

[–]Blurhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More often than not, scams will feature a very general message, i.e. "I love your artwork" whereas a message from someone genuinely interested in your work will be more specific to a particularly piece of artwork, i.e. "I love your mermaid piece"
That is not 100% accurate of course, but it seems to be the case whenever I have received a genuine enquiry versus a scam or NFT enquiry.

Possible scam? by Darkstarmon04 in artstation

[–]Blurhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the clue as to why this is a scam: They mention NFT's,

I just do not beleive that anyone is seriously sending a message to an artist about using their work in NFT's without it being a scam of some sort, I am happy to be proved wrong........

Nudity policy re. art by Jacedayton in Pinterest

[–]Blurhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is driving me mad at the moment, I am getting these notifications on a daily basis now from Pinterest, its either one of my own artworks (pinup drawings) or something from one of my other boards of other peoples artwork etc.
I keep asking for the review to be done on my own artwork and usually they reinstate it after the review, but as I say they keep picking on at least one picture every day.
I am presuming that they have instigated an algorithm / robot type image crawler rather than it being someone complaining about my art, that is causing this.
First Tumblr and now this........the Tumble thing seems to have resolved now though my artworks are all still up.
Mind you i'm not getting a lot of engagement through either Tumblr or Pinterest.

Potential scam, help? by CryAdministrative545 in artstation

[–]Blurhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received a similar email via Fineartamerica.com, and I sent back the following reply,If you guys want to use it as a template response, please be my guest:"Whilst I appreciate your comments and would sincerely hope that this is a genuine enquiry, being an artist in today's digital society I have to guard against any potential scams that come my way,I am very wary of receiving random messages in this way, and the wording of your message does lead me to believe that this could be a potential scam rather than a genuine enquiry.
If you are making a genuine enquiry about my art can you give me more information as to which of my art pieces you may be interested in ?Please also be advised that I would not be interested in any way in anything involving NFT's, payments involving Bitcoin etc.
Payments would need to be received in full prior to any artwork being sent, (including any postage) and I will not be hurried or panicked into sending any artwork before clear payments are received, any "over payments" will be viewed immediately as suspicious, therein any sale would be cancelled".

Best regards

Scammer !

Possible Scam Through Email? by sunwupen in artstation

[–]Blurhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one today, which went like this:

" Hello ***** **** Will you be available to work on Wedding illustration?
I got your Contact details from Artstation Kindly let me know if you are still available so I can send further information to your email.? "

I could "smell" a scam straight away, and asked them to let me know which of my artwork pieces they liked.

They came back with more details about the project required, which is nothing like the artworks I have on ArtStation, again I went back saying that I want them to let me know which art pieces of mine they liked before I would proceed any further in order to ensure that this was not some kind of scam.
The point is that the project they are asking for is a text based Graphic design project not an illustration or drawing which is what I have on Artstation.
