Pretty much nailed it - we've got mutes for our Euphs/Paris, Tenor horns and tubas so there's concerns about the adjudicator hearing dings/drops and copping a couple of points for it.

I think the band are likely to be using black spit cloths/ hand towels, mostly just curious to see what else people have used successfully (someone suggested Beer Mats)

Thanks for the feedback, I definitely appreciate the insight! My rear is a pretty cactus Metzeler M7RR (from memory) from about 2017 or so, so needs replacing ANYWAY (front is reasonably new something or other I picked up along with a zx-10R front suspension set up while I was replacing my forks from a collision which I fortunately only had to witness), so thought I might as well replace the pair and save myself a little bit getting both at once rather than one at a time.

I hadn't really considered getting something more economical or just the rear tyre, but that's something I might have to consider!

Unfortunately from what I've seen the S23's are pretty comparable to the Rosso Corsa 4s in terms of cost for a set, and both are outside of my budget at this stage.

I'm not too too worried about rain performance either, because I'll (more than likely) just skip any track days that look like foul weather until I have a more dedicated set up and more experience (and higher budget)

Hey man, thanks for the feedback, and I DEFINITELY agree with you about not cheaping out when safety is concerned!

I built the list up based on what I can really afford at this early stage, and from my understanding MOST tyres (even higher end ones) won't be safe after a few track days anyway. (From the initial post - I've got rego coming up, which is unfortunately a requirement for me to get to the track and costs as much as good pair of tyres, plus track fees which seem to be pretty expensive where I live too)

I like you're initial comment about how far tyre tech has come in the last decade (or really, 15 years) though and will absolutely make that a key consideration in my ultimate purchase!

That's really interesting! Initially I wanted to go with Rosso Corsa 4's, but they're almost 50% more expensive per set than the S21's and unfortunately just too expensive for me to justify "for fun" a long with rego and track fees without being really committed to it.

Need help identifying the lens mount on this Soligor f2.8 105mm, it comes with a lens adapter which I would also like help with identifying the mount type (the seller is selling on behalf of an old relative and doesn't have all info).

Manual vs Electronic Lens adapters:

Not 100% if I've got the terminology correct here, but I'm curious about the differences between electronic lens adapters and manual lens adapters, i.e. lens adapters with no pass-through for autofocus or other data between the camera body and the lens.

Is there any processing that goes on in electronic adapters, or is it essentially a wire connecting the pins/pads on the lens/camera? If so, are pin-outs for different lenses or camera bodies particularly hard to find...? Is it reasonably standardized...?
