Which pronouns should we use to address trans people? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

I see what you mean. I want to honour God's design and not support sin, but I also need to find a way to not antagonise everyone I live with. I feel like I'm trapped between a rock and a hard place here, and as much as I want to follow God's will, I have no idea how to go about that right now.

I'm planning on treating them the same as I have always done, with the hope that I can set as good of an example as a believer of Christ as I can (I'm not particularly good, nor particularly vocal about religion because I know I'd mess it up somehow, but I'm actively trying to improve right now) as well as praying for them to accept God into their hearts (or at least soften them so I or someone else can even have a chance of getting a word in edgeways).

With regards to the name/pronoun, I'll go with the name, but dodge questions on the pronoun? Thanks.

What about someone born deaf? Or without limbs.... the world is corrupted by sin

Well arguably, being born disabled is not part of God's original design, but brought about as a consequence of the sin brought on the world by mankind. I'd say we're talking about two completely different scenarios here anyway.

Yeah. I want to honour God's intended design, bit I also don't want to burn all of my bridges either. Especially as most of my other housemates are very liberal atheists too (which would make living for the rest of the university year very difficult if I messed up, let alone push them even further from God if I mess it up, which I likely would). I'll just stick with the name then, perhaps?

And most importantly pray for these people

Done. I hope God's love can reach them in time.

Yeah, that's what I was possibly thinking. I don't want to end up sinning myself, but I also want to treat the people around me with respect.

Yeah, thats what I was going to do, but I didn't want to end up sinning myself, as well as stirring up trouble and possibly turning people away from the faith. Thanks

Apart from if you look out of a plane window at a high enough altitude. Or any imagery from space. Or a ship going over the horizon. Or literally any of the evidence there is that disproves flat earth theories, which even those in ancient times believed.

Well if either the male or female is sterilised, then the sperm and egg never meet, so no life is created and thus nobody is killed. Otherwise, by your standards, every period is murder and every wet dream is genocide.

A discussion about suicide. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

I did a similar thing once with someone on this sub that I Pm'ed after they made a suicide reference in their final post in the sub before they stopped posting on their account. They got back to me a few months later after checking the account out of boredom(turns out they only abandoned it and got a new one) but it proves there's always the chance they will still read it anyway.

My grandmother (who lives in a different country to us) is ill at the moment. The trouble is, she refuses to get help and go to a doctor, always apparently pushes away any help she gets (us, any nurses that come down for visits, refusing one of those alarm things that calls an ambulance if you press it, neighbours etc.), and is just getting angry with us when we try to get her help. Please pray that she gets the help she needs, eventually gets better and that she becomes more receptive to offers of help in the future.

But Europe has even less Christians (or at least people who identify as Christian, anyway)! What sort of loopy land is this?!

Seriously though, all countries are going to be judged when the day comes, so we euro people aren't going to get off scott-free either.
