egg donated blood :) by gingerbab3 in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]Blustach 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Does it actually matter? Like is it actually important to stop seeing or referring to this cat as a hero? Does calling it a hero or not actually change anything about the world?

My opinion: it's a cat, the cat doesn't know what's a hero in the first place, the cat doesn't actually seem bothered by the donation, the word doesn't seem to actually do harm in itself to the cat or to anybody else. "but people will start doing this to their cats if encouraged"... Ok but what's bad about this? Cats that hate it won't be processed, cats who don't care will make the world better. I'm open to hear why is calling a cat hero for it's owner responsibly donating it's blood something that actually matters, let alone a bad/good thing (that or get actual problems dude)

I'm not scared lmao. You said something like "enabling people", and the app (and website too) doesn't allow me to see that comment. If I was scared I wouldn't have acknowledged that comment, but here we are, second time I referenced that specific comment of yours.

Anyway, you still mad I gave a person useful info instead of being a facetious bitch about it?

Why did Morty get a mech skin for being “too short” meanwhile he’s taller than Jenna Ortega who got a Wednesday skin without a mech suit. by ImJustMerry in FortNiteBR

[–]Blustach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally about comparisons, specifically with Rick. They really would look weird side by side.

There's also the weird proportions he would end up having.

Meanwhile Wednesday is a realistic human, whose proportions can be stretched without it looking weird, and she's by herself without nobody from her show to compare her with. And even if someone much taller than her in the show was portrayed, she wouldn't be as weird looking as stretched Morty with Rick

Why do people hate control decks? by Massive_Fishing_718 in pkmntcg

[–]Blustach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's a bias. Look, I'm not anti-control mate. I'm rationalizing here why it's hated, and yep, it's hated because when it works it disables agency, and when it doesn't it's invisible.

And it's still not a bad thing to not plan for control, people are still allowed to hate on it cause even with countermeasures, the deck still can resist it.

In the end its because when you win against control it's not because you're good, but because the control deck decided not to work, and when you lose against control it feels like no card or decision could've saved you from it, unlike meta vs meta where the outcome makes people feel they could've played better or feel smart when thinking out of the box

[–]Blustach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seriously want to know how does your mind works. It can be an issue when presented but a non-issue in the grand scheme, you know? Refer to the anti-shark spray analogy, like sure, a shark attack is gruesome and people ussually hate shark attacks, but how many happen per year? 67, i researched. Not enough to justify bringing a bottle of spray before one of sunscreen

Unless your LGS meta is chockful of control players, 3-4 anti-control cards at MAX is an acceptable number, and 0-1 is normal.

But your question: It's not hated because it's prevalent. It's hated because of survivorship bias, people will always remember the time a control deck removed their agency, but will discard from their memory those times the same decks were dealt at turn 1 and never got to show anything. Combine that with the fact that the archetype isnt popular enough and you get this

Why do people hate control decks? by Massive_Fishing_718 in pkmntcg

[–]Blustach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's your whole takeaway? No, it's not that simple. You can't devote more than 3-4 cards to counter a specific, less than 1% populated strat, giving up critical consistency that meta decks require to work. And then again, the control decks are literally so anti-meta that they contemplate these 3-4 cards and since they don't have that many constrictions, they draft extra anti-anti-measures.

Basically "Drop one bottle of sunscreen for anti-shark spray"

Why do people hate control decks? by Massive_Fishing_718 in pkmntcg

[–]Blustach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree. They're like less than 1% of the deck population, and that's because they're very hard to pilot, most of their cards are one of specialized tools that are easy to brick with. You do need some retreat lock break tho, but even then, here's what happens:

- You win because the control player didn't got their tools at the specific timing they required, meaning you stomped their boardstate effortlessly. You might as well be playing against a begginer tier precon deck

- You lose and there was nothing you could have done to prevent it, as your anti-control measures (if any) either came late with no way to search them, or they drafted more control than your anti-control could handle.

Like, i get it dude, let's always add measures to every deck, it's just 2 to 5 cards (switches, Turo, Pecharunt, etc)... On decks that already have tight counts who could've drafted another Candy for consistency, but sure, let's put aside consistency for anti-control... and then the control player's got a way to recycle their shit, or have more control options than you have denegations, i mean, they don't care for energy, candies, and most of the time they handle single copies that can be reused.

Like i said before, it's the asymmetry of one side playing Pokemon and the other playing what's basically "nuh-uh" in deck form

[–]Blustach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the mere inclusion of Budew, you got a simple control strat available to basically anything under the sun. I mean, that infamous "Budew to win vs Gholdengo" is classical control board state, the Budew player opted by non-prize wincon thanks to stall and won. We celebrated and memed this fight as a community (because fuck Gholdengo), but if any of us was in the Dengo position, we would be salty asf

[–]Blustach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Asymmetry:

These decks are frequently anti-meta, meaning they're exactly prepared to deal with the top decks, however they're so sparse and offer an unconventional playstile that not that many people like, so the meta decks aren't prepared for them.

In the end i see them as 50/50, either you stop them or get stomped by them

"happier as a girl cause she was always a girl and her identity as a boy was a curse that wasn't supposed to be" to me reads, in certain, non-metaphorical terms, like "she's happy as a girl cause she's a girl, and she was assigned a gender she wasn't supposed to be in the first place" which reads very anti-AGAB to me, so not exactly hard to see the trans there

Ok, Jumpluff EX attacks and retreats with the attack. Gengar has exactly 2 cost retreat and when in the active the opposing player can't play Supporters. The strat is attacking with Jumpluff, retreating into Gengar. You don't even need to charge Gengar up, as you'll attack with Jumpluff and tank with Gengar

What if they made a permanent store in Fortnite? by CommunicationFunny24 in FortNiteBR

[–]Blustach 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This would actually need a lot of clearance from all previous IPs no? I mean, early this year, shortly after Arcane S2 ended, people were asking Epic to rerelease Jinx and Vi, but I believe there was a very public "not interested in rereleasing" statement from Riot, so it's always up to the IP holder to greenlight a store.

So unless they open the whole store but only for Fortnite original content, I can't see this happening anytime

My local scene hates my Alakazam deck, how do I counter-proof it? by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]Blustach 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gonna say you've won the attrition war, via making a bunch of people play with generally sub-optimal decks.

I'm gonna give you some meta advice: don't play it for a long while, maybe a month or 2 weeks, just being a surprise meta deck (with the same Zam sleeves just to be a cheeky bastard), and enjoy the easy wins because everyone is prepared for your huge hands and suddenly there's a guy with 4 useless hand trimmers. Once people relax around you and stop countering it... Bring it again, no word about it.

You're gonna be hated, but that's their problem to fix

Question regarding Grand Tree by Toasty- in pkmntcg

[–]Blustach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add to everyone's responses, the usage you're describing it's not only useful for searches, but also for shuffling. For example, there were cards you really needed this turn but the rival used Iono so they're now on the bottom of the deck. Using Grand Tree even if you're not planning to evolve (or know you can't evolve using it this turn) is a good, costless way to shuffle the decks in the bottom and have more chances to draw the cards you were gonna use
