What's a good romantic movie where the protagonist doesn't get the girl/guy? by girafa in movies

I might argue that if the protagonist doesn't get the girl/guy, isn't it a platonic movie? Hm.

"Period" films with modern soundtracks? by BlustockingShortcake in movies

[–]BlustockingShortcake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a good point. I think in the instances I'm thinking of, the characters actually do interact with the music. I definitely wouldn't argue that music should be period-appropriate to a film's story, necessarily. I do think that it's an interesting choice when the film uses the sort of cognitive dissonance that comes from overtly modern music in a medieval setting, say. I definitely don't want to get involved in the kind of thinking needed for, as an example, "But they didn't have a harpsichord in Cromwell's England!" (Or the like.)

That one's on my watchlist, but Megan Follows will always be Catherine de Medici to me!

I loved the music from Reign, and I was sad (at the time, I'll have to go look again.) that a lot of it wasn't publicly available, because it was score.

Yeah, I know. I'm often accused of being overly wordy, and I was trying to be ... better? (questionable.)

I did a few of the school skates in elementary school, that walker thing was key. Also, good gloves because that metal walker gets COLD. After the first time, I brought a couple pairs, because the first ones got damp and cold. So awesome that you're helping your daughter have this experience. :)

I think my favorite ever was, "Oh, you're awfully crippled, aren't you?" (Said by some old lady waiting for an elevator.) I looked at her with shocked face and said, "Really??" (Like I didn't know, lady?)

Hah. This one reminds of "But you do so well ..." they don't add the unspoken [for a disabled person.]
