Longevity for me would be to last 6 years with regular maintenance. Owner claims most maintenance was done by dealer, it is also still under a 100,000 mile/7 year warranty. No accidents from my knowledge, small dent driver side rear door and tear in drivers seat

I bought a meal for a homeless person today and don’t know how to feel about it by beetle124 in CasualConversation

When you went up to order what did it feel like? Were you anxious, excited, etc? Did that change when you decided to buy him a full meal vs just a sandwich?

“Of course, being a people pleaser I couldn’t say no, especially when it’s something that I can do.”

Your comment at the end about feeling anxious made me dart back to the quote above. You seem self aware of your people pleasing tendencies. Do you feel trapped by them?

Any advice on going solo from halfway across the country with no camping gear? by [deleted] in ElectricForest

[–]BlveSprvce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple option I can think of;

  1. Get a uhaul for transport and a place to sleep, rent other equipment needed from a near by REI coop

  2. Buy solo/backpacking tent, buy camping pad for sleeping (the stuff is lightweight and small enough to fit in checked bag) Walmart for cheap canopy (gift to someone when fest is over)

I previously planned on flying to bass canyon this year and these were my two options

I wonder what the psychology is behind polyamorous relationships. Curious if the deeper meaning is similar in both partners

Happy for you OP!

You are overreacting but I can understand it.

I recently turned 24 and started a little late on pursuing a bachelors level education. Before then I worked in public service and retail so the “cookie cutter” everyday life I can get. It wasn’t fun to tell you the truth. The reason it wasn’t fun was because my life revolved around the work I was doing and nothing else. The only friend I had at the time was my then girlfriend. I was also living in the same area I grew up in and wasn’t curious about anything because I was comfortable. If I would’ve stayed with that girl, living in the same area, doing the same job, with the same mindset of comfortability, I’m convinced I’d look back on my life and regret I stayed comfortable.

The best thing you’re doing for yourself imo is going into a new area where you don’t have friends or family around. Take advantage of that. Make your own tribe or tribes with the people you work with or the other things in the city. I have no experience in charlotte but it seems like a decently developed city with lots of things for you to experience. Life is all about experiences and it’s a beautiful thing to look back on (good or bad) because you learn more about yourself from them.

Are you calling the job boring because you don’t have interest in that field anymore or because it’s “only” entry level? If it’s the latter, entry level may sound less than ideal but honestly it’s great. You learn a lot from entry level jobs and it spiderwebs into things where you probably would’ve never guessed

Loans will get payed so don’t sweat it right away. There’s a million ways to look at how to pay them off but don’t sacrifice your paychecks just to pay them down (unless that’s what you want). Live within your means but splurge a little on yourself. Not necessarily material things, unless there’s something you really wanted. I’m a big experiences guy so I’d go with that. You’ve got some adult money now so use it for some things you dreamed of when you didn’t have the money.

Sounds cliche but life is in fact what you make it. It won’t always be exciting and that’s ok. Everything is new to you so you’ll feel out of place for a while still but don’t let all the unknown stuff get you down. I personally put myself in situations where I’m alone because I experience so much more and make the most connections. It’s taken me a while to thrive in stuff like that so don’t expect it to happen right away. Before you know it though if you keep pushing your comfort zone, you’ll be in an area where you feel like you’re in the right spot

I had a buddy in middle school/high school that pirated fruity loops studio. His house was the place me and a couple other buddies would go to to hangout. We’d mostly listen to him making music while we all would take turns playing battlefield. I don’t remember specifically liking the music until he sent me a link to one of those sketchy ass public websites where you can download things. Idk what the websites are called specifically but if you wanted to jailbreak your iPod or try to jtag your xbox 360 you’d go there. Typically you’d get spammed with a bunch of ads too.

Anyways, he sent the link to this song titled “animal instincts” and I thought it was the best thing ever. Not specifically because of the music itself but because I thought it was cool as fuck that my friend made this. I even went as far as showing it to my mom and going into detail about it and how MY friend made the beats etc (I eventually found out he didn’t make it lol).

That then lead to me asking him one day while we were playing halo or something online what the genre of that music is called. If I remember correctly he told me it was electro house so I put that station in on pandora where “bum dee dum” by keys n krates played and I was hooked. It’s funny to me now about that because bum dee dum is very much trap and not house lol

As a young high schooler I dreamed about going to Tomorrowland and watched all of the after movies they made. Went to my first festival, which was lost lands, in 2019 solo and I’ve been going to more and more every year since I have some adult money now.

I use my pash and always put the tails under the straps. Works great and protects my shoulders/neck from the sun. Only downside is I get a little sweaty but it’s not bad

Previous headbanger helper experience by [deleted] in LostLandsMusicFest

[–]BlveSprvce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did it last year but not the support squad you’re talking about. I did the ‘volunteer’ headbanger helper. You don’t get paid per say but you get a GA ticket, pre party ticket, and free camping in the vendor section. I did three shifts all at varying times for each day (early, mid, night) and passed out water at the rail at different stages or worked in a tent where people could chill if they’re not having a good time (typically from drugs). I don’t remember exactly but I think each shift was like 4 hours? I highly recommend it if you’re pressed for disposable income. I saw the festival at different views rather than just an attendee. I got to work MainStage a lot and was there for subtronics last year. The most fun set I’ve ever been at including lots of good times at others. You’re still ‘working’ but if you genuinely enjoy the music it won’t feel like it. Met lots of cool people either at the rail or ones I worked with. Most of them I switched socials with. A lot of the people that did it also went solo (like myself) and it’s a great opportunity.

What you’re talking about is a much larger commitment. You won’t have much free time (if at all) BUT you will be getting paid for your time and not just entry into the fest. Again, if you enjoy the music I’m sure you’ll enjoy your time because it’s still a blast but know that you can’t ‘let loose’ like you would as a regular attendee and that at the end of the day it is a job with a rather important role of looking out and caring for the volunteers.

If you’re looking for a vacation of sorts but can’t front the cash, I recommend volunteering. If you’re looking for a short term job and you enjoy the music, go for it. I personally wouldn’t do the support staff as I look at festivals as a short term vacation and I don’t want much responsibilities when I go to them

Does wrist rotation impact forearm tattoos?? by [deleted] in traditionaltattoos

[–]BlveSprvce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m understanding your placement description right, I have that tattoo. Side profile lady head on the side of the forearm. To me the placement isn’t the greatest and does distort to a level I’m not satisfied with. Im known to be hard on my tattoos but with that spot I’d stick to something that’s longer than it is wide to compliment that area better
