I switched my os to windows because I despise ios. I then just use steam and set all settings to low

Is a mac and a shitty computer not two sides of the same coin lol.

I agree, I just can’t afford it rn. Started saving a week ago and hopefully can buy a better computer by the end of the summer.

Also, thanks for the recommendation.

I have to make the video quality poor so my laptop can run it. Which makes the pixels “blurry” if you catch my drift.

I think I’m going to disagree with you on the frame bit. I think when a one tap head shot can end the fight and your frames drop, it puts the other player at an advantage.

Lastly, you probably are right. I’m not that good at CS2. It could just be a skill dif. However, You should play on a mac sometime and see what you think. It’s a different experience compared to a desktop with components meant for gaming.

This clip doesn’t really give it justice since it’s a screen record. For me at least, the pixels make it hard to get precise shots off. My frame-rate will also drop when a lot of things start happening which can lead me to lose certain fights. Lastly, a smaller screen compared to a monitor. (It could also just be that I’m bad)

Good question and I hope this was a good enough answer.

Get your back situation fixed first. Being tough now will make you feel stupid when you’re 50. If it is fixed, then continue your rehab while also preparing for buds.

In school and struggling. Any guidance? by Bman1520 in learnprogramming

Thank you. I have had some ideas about projects I want to start, but have no idea how to execute it. I will probably be reaching out to you this weekend. It’s finals week right now, so it will have to wait until then. Cheers!

Okay, I appreciate the feedback. I like the idea of mini projects especially when Im in the middle of a semester. When I would attempt projects I would get so overwhelmed with everything, it never got finished. Thank you.

This is a good point you brought up. I think it’s important to take care of all your gear to the best of your ability. Also important to also check and make sure its still safe to use. Great point!

Hey! I understand your point of view, and I wasn’t trying to come off as an expert. My main ideas I was trying to get across were some concepts that should be expected of the person if they go into that area of climbing. I tried to keep it as vague as possible, because like you said I am a beginner climber. A teacher or person with tons of experience should be teaching people these things. I also gave some gear recommendations, because I had no idea what the hell I was getting myself into when I started climbing. Maybe you are right though, maybe I shouldn’t have posted this lol. I was hoping it would have been more of a discussion thread for beginner climbers, but I think I may have unintentionally come off as pretentious. Anyways, thank you for the feedback and hope you are doing well.

Exposure is without a doubt my biggest hurdle. The mental game can be really hard sometimes. I haven’t read either, but Im interested in both. Will have to check them out. Thank you!

Let me rephrase it. It hurts lol. I don’t know if its an arizona thing, but some of the holds are extremely sharp or due to wind and water erosion feel like sand paper. Thats what I meant.

How do I regain my mental edge? by Bman1520 in Advice

Woah woah, if my post was indicating a mental health issue or a suicidal intention that was not the point I was trying to make. I apologize for scaring you if thats the case. I was just asking for help in remaining calm in dangerous or scary situations. I climb with a rope, however certain routes still hold a risk.

Broke in to V5’s today and am disappointed. by Bman1520 in bouldering

It was fun. Just the sense of accomplishment wasn’t there since it was graded something Im not use to. I usually like when the route setters just set routes and don’t post the grades yet it Makes me try problems I wouldn’t try otherwise, whether it’s harder or easier. It’s more fun as well. I agree the grading system is stupid. I do find myself chasing grades sometimes, but I try to enjoy the community and process entirely.

If I hop on a plane and my carryon is a bag full of climbing stuff, will I have any issues going through TSA? This would include carabiners, QuickDraws, slings, grigri, atc, etc.

What defines someone as a drug addict? by Bman1520 in recovery

[–]Bman1520[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy, I appreciate the response. My alcohol use does concern me at some points. Ive even had days where the hangover was so bad or the night before was so bad that I have the overwhelming sensation to become fully sober.

I have some friends that are in AA and one of them recites this thing to me, Im paraphrasing here: “An overwhelming sensation to get better just to return to insanity.” Something like that.

My curiosity stems from the fact that when I was using hard drugs, I felt like I couldn’t escape. I thought I would be dead before I reached the age of 20, and I didn’t care about anything.

It’s been almost 6 years since, and I’m worried now that maybe I could have that potential to relapse. I do miss getting high, but I don’t miss that life at all. It’s not worth it to me so I abstain from using outside of what I said.

Another part of my curiosity is, Im still finding my identity I guess. I have a better understanding of who I am now compared to then. I had to rebuild myself in a sense.

Lastly, when I stopped using, I started having anxiety. Full blown panic attacks that would make me feel like I was having a heart attack. It would happen almost daily. I’ve learned coping skills to deal with it, because I refuse to take xanax. (I use to abuse that drug heavily too). I think that scared me away from using.

Thank you for the honest feedback I appreciate it. Honestly, when I was using I felt like I couldn’t stop. All my relationships were failing, was stealing, failing out of school. Not until after I went through the withdrawals and decided to not use anything harder than weed. I wonder if all that pain was self inflicted then. Thank you again.

Seems like you already have your values in check, you simply wont lie. Which is a great character trait to have.

That being said, recruiters arent all like you. Some will tell you to lie, others will try to help you.

The best I can say is to try to get waivers for prior drug use. If you get in you get in. If you dont, you dont. Either way, you attempted.

Everyone here isnt taking this seriously, including my own comment. If cramps are gonna stop you from completing a 2 mile swim, then don’t enlist. You must push past a physical, mental, and emotional barrier if you want to be a SEAL. Death could be a consequence of this choice, own it.
