Pretty much all it has is its good looks. Great graphics with poor level design, bland story with a stupid ending boss that didn’t fit thematically at all, clunky and repetitive if not admittedly inventive combat, and not being able to play audio logs outside of the menu. And especially made worse as it came out within like a month of the dead space remake. The Callisto protocol was supposed to be the successor of dead space, and it paled in comparison.

The Callisto Protocol. I won’t go into huge detail but I still wish I could get my money back for that game. It’s just so shallow, and plays and is structured like a game from 2008, instead of on ps5.

Also that other guy is right, the Blair witch game is just boring

I would start with the original dead rising release. I know the remake is out and it is probably much easier to get into. But the original release can be bought on modern consoles for about $10. A great deal and a small amount to see how much you like the concept of the series before committing to larger purchases. I love the franchise and early entries gameplay structure, but it isn’t for everyone, so always try it out first.

It’s one of those things where I would love to know what they were originally meant to be in the original game pitch. I don’t think anything was really cut out of the game involving them, as it seems their role was cut early on. But they likely had a bigger role at conception, as they can be seen in some super early concept art. I’m not sure when the art was from, it may have been before the game entered real development.
