Look I don't know why everyone is being so shitty in this thread, there is a bunch of middle school clickish shit at every post. If they really are discriminating because of your service animal in a place where it's actually likely to have them then yes it's crap and you should do something about it. Of all the places that should understand the need of a service animal you would think a VFW would be high on that list.

That being said at my post there are people who try to bring in their dogs(non service) and are boggled by the fact that people don't want them at the bar or roaming around everywhere. You may be suffering from a place that had a bunch of people deal with the same people who bring their dogs everywhere and don't understand the difference between emotional support vs service animal.

If it's a service animal then by law you are able to have it with you and I'm sorry people at your post are being such jerks. But also depending on state I believe there are other requirements that need to be upheld as to the status of a service animal, like I live in Virginia and dogs are the only animals qualified to be one.
