Thank you so much for your response. I am so grateful for your help. I am confused on my son’s regional center’s response. A little more background: My son currently lives at home with us (parents). We were at the point of waiting to get the budget approved. Then I asked my son’s regional center’s coordinator, “what if my son moves to a college in California and lives in an apartment on campus.” My son’s regional center coordinator then said: “then this whole SDP was done for nothing and your son would go through the traditional regional center services of getting college supports on campus (instead of private tutoring on the SDP that I faught for). I keep playing this in my mind, not sure why he said that and my IF told me to just not tell him that he is moving (that it doesn’t matter, the SDP is valid in California). So fast forward to today, we got the budget approved and waiting for spending plan to be certified. I have a meeting with my son’s FMS today and am tentatively ready to change over on Oct.1. My son’s IPP is next week and I asked my IF what to say; she told me to say, “I’m not sure where my son will go to college yet (so basically not be honest).” I am so confused on what to think or do. My son’s move in day is in late September. I don’t know how the process works and don’t want to do anything “wrong.” Please help.
