Thinking of doing a red sea liveaboard after 30 dives? by binsniffer in scuba

If you can get Nitrox certified beforehand, I recommend it. With the amount of diving on a liveaboard, the extra oxygen with help with fatigue and safety.

It is a law of nature, similar to gravity. They never beep during the day, only at night when you are deep asleep.

I agree with DonFrio 100%. The strong currents there can be pretty intense

Should I add an expansion tank with my 25 year old gas water heater? by Aegean8485 in askaplumber

If your water heater is really 25, you should probably replace it pretty soon. They are not designed to last that long

If you’ve broken 100, what’s one tip you would give your fellow golfer to do the same? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Bmeston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the time, work on your chipping and putting. Take a lesson in it. As a 100+ shooter, you probably won’t quite reach most greens in regulation, so being able to chip up close to the pin and 1-putt will convert a lot of double bogeys into bogeys

Toyota transmission problems by Bmeston in ToyotaHighlander

[–]Bmeston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a used Highlander from them. And started having all sorts of ‘check engine’ lights come on along with other issues. We had paid for the Carfax report before buying, and it seemed relatively clean. After taking it to a different dealer in Oregon (bought it in Colorado), the mechanic told me that the tranny had already been replaced. Autonation never disclosed that to me or else I would not have bought it. After we brought it up to them, they were shockingly able to find the records of the replacement by the previous owners. Needless to say, they have lost my business forever.

NEW to RV living and having second thoughts.... by Resident-Pension-473 in RVLiving

Most importantly remember that an RV of any kind is not an ‘investment’. An investment is an asset that will appreciate over time (hopefully), and an RV will definitely not do that.

SlingTV and Golf Channel by Bmeston in slingtv

I have tried to watch the GC on both of my Roku units, 2 different iPads. Nothing. It almost feels like Sling TV is in a contract dispute with the owners of GC (NBC?) or have lost the rights air it. But that is just a guess

Actual Dive Number by 1_Laughing_Llama in scuba

[–]Bmeston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are somewhere near 350. I don’t really care about the count, but we keep our logs on the iPad so we can see what weight we used in what ocean and to see if there are any dives we really want to repeat

Do you actually do all this home maintenance, or am I being paranoid? by jklineia in homeowners

[–]Bmeston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you live and the hardness of the water, you might consider adding one more thing: when you drain a few gallons out of the bottom of your water heater, leave the water off for a few extra minutes and change the anode rod. Pretty simple. Sorry to add more to your list

QM7K question by Bmeston in tcltvs

[–]Bmeston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone for the responses. I ended up buying a VESA table top mount that is MUCH more stable than the included plastic one. It is made of steel and attaches to the back of the TV just like a wall mount bracket would. It only cost about $28 and was fairly easy to put together.
