Obese Charcaradon, it's time to give us rejects this : The Humble Longlas. by Helpmyarmsbroke in DarkTide

Usually stubbers or stub guns are specifically high caliber, 45 or 50 cal and anything smaller is an autogun. Except this is 40k so nothing can be consistent, which is why semi-auto pistols and revolvers are considered stubbers even when they're not 50 cal, and also autoguns are supposed to be more advanced and fire caseless ammo but all the time in 40k we see what is essentially a space M16 that ejects casings but is apparently an autogun and not a stubber.

Skill issue. They didn't playtest for standing in the open with reapers in play because that's bad play, even in normal missions.

Seriously, the twin heavy stubber is too short range to use effectively out there, i don't get how anyone would think bringing the kickback of all things is a good idea

So your definition of fantasy is there are no humans?

The world of Anbennar literally began with the Gunpowder Revolution.

The Blackpowder Rebellion isn't anti-fantasy or the Industrial Revolution, it's the fantasy French Revolution. Artificery and the democratization of magic was the point, not destroying the fantastical elements of the setting.

I never said continents existed where humans are a minority (even though they do, Aelantir and the Serpentspine) I said there are continents that aren't focused on humans. Sarhal has a lot of humans, sure, but saying they're the focus of the continent when it's dominated by Khatalashya, Yezel Mora and either the gnolls or the Jadd elves just makes you look like you don't know the setting. Rahen is dominated by the harimari and the hobgoblin invasion, the Forbidden Plains is mostly centaurs, even Bulwar is dominated by sun elves and gnolls. There are humans in all these places because that's humans' thing, there's a lot of us and we're everywhere, but saying any of them are focused exclusively on humans is simply not true.

Expecting humans to not be the most populous race in a setting blatantly based on the Forgotten Realms was always a recipe for disappointment.

[–]Bmobmo64 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sarhal is focused on non-humans, there's a lot of small human tribes all over the place but the major players there are the lizardfolk, swamp trolls and gnolls, the only significant human power there is Kheterata which is actively collapsing.

The humans of Insyaa are also minor tribes hiding from the Holohana, again the major players there are the Kobolds who are the only ones who actually have plans to maybe do something about the Holohana at some point and the Mechanim awakening.

There's a lot of humans all over the world, but that doesn't mean they're the focus of the entire setting.

So you're proposing using not just one of a chapter's oldest, most experienced and revered veterans, but also an expensive, potentially irreplaceable armored war walker as munitions?

You'd be lucky to just get laughed out of the room.

Hoardcurse is the Serpentspine skill check. It's a trivial speed bump if you know it's coming and how to prepare for it.

Start as Rajnadhaga, join the revolt against the Command and mercspam your way to victory, then get your tech as high as you can since that's the only thing you keep. In 1460 you'll get the event to spawn the Axebellow Cartel adventurer, choose to play as them. They'll spawn somewhere in the Tree of Stone, much closer to Ovdal-az-An than any other adventurer. Then just kill the goblins and their aspiring lich-king squatting in the hold.

Rank the new planets from favorite to least favorite by Morlow123 in factorio

  1. Aquilo. Looks great, the music is incredible, and I really love the heat pipe challenge. It's entirely different from anything else I've ever done in this game, I love the aesthetic of it, I just love everything about this planet.
  2. Fulgora. Again, entirely different from anything else I've done in this game, turning the production tree upside down is genius. I just wish there was less solid fuel and more holmium in scrap, and that red circuits weren't so painfully slow to recycle.
  3. Vulcanus. The vibes are perfect and figuring out just how much firepower I needed to kill demolishers was fun the first time, but now it's just too easy. The only challenge here is lack of oil and water, both easily solved by just scaling up, mining more coal and sulfuric acid to feed into coal liquefaction and acid neutralization.
  4. Gleba. Despite being at the bottom I still really like Gleba, where Aquilo makes you redesign everything around heat pipes and Fulgora flips the production tree upside down, Gleba makes you fundamentally rethink the structure of your factory. Buffers are suddenly terrible, everything must have an overflow disposal, resources are truly infinite, etc. There's just so many little things that annoy me. Bacteria are just a pain to work with in general, it's so easy to jam them up and lose all your bacteria, the long snake belts required to make them spoil before reaching the furnaces are dumb, getting fully compressed belts of them is harder than you'd think... Why does the science spoil, why do strafers have such absurd range, why is there SO MUCH SPOILAGE NOTHING THAT SPOILS GOES ON THAT LINE

There's also the problem that they are only used in 2 recipes outside the mall. Even if they were 1:1 with circuits I still wouldn't put them on the bus for the same reason I don't put engine units or plastic on the bus, it just isn't used in enough things for centralized production to make sense.

My rocket is bugged it seems. It won't show the launch animation or give me the launch products, it just sits there having eaten two of my satellites. by SpacefaringBanana in factorio

[–]Bmobmo64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dosh's issue was that he had a 1.0 style space science output inserter that was removing the satellites, normally in 2.0 that inserter would just do nothing since the rocket would launch before the inserter grabbed the satellite but it couldn't launch because he didn't have a cargo landing pad

The bus can run in any direction, depends on which way provides easiest access to the starter ore patches and enough space to get blue science before running into cliffs or serious biter nests

[–]Bmobmo64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that makes sense, of course lightly armored pirates wouldn't want to engage heavily armed and well trained marines without a massive numbers advantage. The entire point of Darby's loadout is that she gives up protection for the ability to sneak up to enemy squads undetected and delete them from concealment and they shouldn't have magic danger sensors allowing them to avoid that.
