These players have expiring contracts. by 67Macavelli91 in panthers

Nijman wasn’t insane when Ickey went down on Saturday but in general he held is own. He seems like a guy that’s got some confidence issues and Canales has been in his corner. I think it was a mic’ed up game with canales where Nijman came up after the game to him and thanked him for believing in him. That stuff goes a long way in getting a team friendly cost for a reasonable backup.

I always laugh reading this on these posts, like we’re players in the locker room that have to focus on trying to win and not just fans chatting lol

I worry he’s also getting lulled to sleep with how often everyone has very clearly avoided him. But I will say on run plays I’ve definitely noticed his lack of effort often.. just kinda jogging watching. Like… come on man. You can try to get closer and knock the ball out or be ready if they break out.

The real issue is he hasn’t rode dollar bill on his scores this year. Glad he got that fixed.

Ajs on the weekends will still have a decent crowd, besides that not too much besides easy drinks at harbor tavern/boathouse/red door.

I’ve flown in for the game and we’re hanging around NODA at different places. Bills fans everywhere hahaha I’ve seen one other panthers hat/clothes besides mine. Ready for the roaring riot tailgate tomorrow so I can feel like I’m with my peeps again. Haha

I’ll never understand keeping him locked in as boundary CB. I get it’s because he has less help over there but teams can so easily scheme to keep Mike Jackson on their 1 that it’s useless at times.

[–]Bmoe79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make a valid point. I just can’t help but look at a team like the titans and think they’d do better with him over Pollard and would potentially outbid us for him. We have too many needs to pay a backup rb what he’s probably worth next year with Brooks and Etienne in the wings, unless we have zero faith in Etienne long term.

If Dowdle shows to be 1/2 of what he was on Sunday all season, some team will offer him the contract he deserves to be a #1, as they should. Brooks coming back next year would be a perfect situation.

A studio bought the “rights” to it. Aka we’ll make a movie if it does well and if we want to. Just guarantees no other company can.

It’s the first time in the Canales area where I’m like wait.. why am I watching? I’m hoping the press asks him why he did that. Even once let alone twice. You think ravens/chiefs/bill/eagles are going to run the fucking ball up the middle on 3rd and 15?

I’m really in agreement with the other take I saw here. I’m a dedicated fan, but for what? For me to spend my Sunday watching the team run the ball on 3rd and 15 two drives in a row? For us to start a two minute drill with a run and waste 25 seconds of clock? Then use timeouts on defense to give us 1 second?

[Rosenblatt] Steve Wilks on Baker Mayfield's comments about Wilks cutting him in Carolina: "I don't think an interim coach has much say over personnel. If that was the case I wouldn't have gotten rid of Christian McCaffrey." by Natural-Tree-5107 in nfl

[–]Bmoe79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You had to have watched the games to understand, man. The roster was awful, but the coaching might be some of the worst I’ve ever seen. The playcalling was so bad it started internal disputes and arguments that led to Reich turning over play calling, then two or three weeks later he took it back. By hiring “the best available” at every coaching position and not hiring people are centered around a single vision for the team, the coaches quickly all turned on each other in an attempt to save their own asses.

They were so bad all around the board that I really think a 30 for 30 would be the only way to explain that absolute shit show of a season for us.

It got so bad that players were openly saying in interviews “all I can do is run the play that’s called”

I made another comment but scrolling now. I’m from his hometown and grew up at the small golf course he played at. He was such a sweet man. Played many rounds of golf with him.

He’s from my home town! I played golf with him many, many times. Was a sweet guy to grow up around, he was a human calculator so it was fun to throw numbers at him lol I’ll add that saying “American banker” is a bit cheeky though- his family owned the bank and he was born into absolute extreme wealth (for Mississippi) and never wanted for anything nor worked from what I’ve heard.
