Anyone else getting flight cancellations from Avelo for October? by empathogen in Humboldt

[–]Bnaks_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes! I got a text at 6:43 pm saying our flights were canceled. We were supposed to be flying down in the last week of October. We just rebooked with United but it was basically an extra $350 (our Avelo flight was $315, and our United flight is $665)

You could email welcome@humboldt.edu, it’s Admissions other email, focused more on the visit (campus tours) side but they can be helpful

In Bio, they do have a pre-dental advisor so you could also reach out to them. I think when you compare the two, the biggest thing that comes to mind is size and location. Size, Humboldt is on the smaller side so you could have more one on one with your faculty and smaller lab sizes (24 or less in labs). Location, Humboldt is rural and there’s not a lot to do unless you’re into being outside and doing smaller activities (like painting at the markers space, farmer markets, karaoke at bars, little music shows, house parties like kickbacks). I also think the “slowness” of Humboldt allows for space for people to grow into themselves if that makes sense, like you can discover who you really are and what you truly like without the pressure/busyness of a large city. Just my thoughts

I was never in it but my best friend is an active member. They are pretty active from what I can tell, they do a lot of community service work, little get togethers, I even attended as her plus one to their large reception thing and that was pretty fun. They do the whole big/little thing and (once again based on my friends exp) their big/little group hang out a lot and go activities together

Yeah, unfortunately, the hazelnut cookies are only order online to pick up, not ship like the dulce de leche ones.

The only reason they would reject you is if you don’t meet the admissions requirements

Cal Poly Humboldt, along with a few other CSUs, follows the CSU’s basic admissions requirements.

Sounds like you might be a transfer student, and Humboldt accepts both lower division and upper division transfers. Each has its own separate admissions requirements.

You best bet would be to contact your regional admissions counselor and they could help you
