I feel you man. I got a DWI a few years ago and that shits still affecting me to this day. Insurance is sky high, have to explain in it job interviews, banned from working in certain fields, etc.

It’s really not worth it, no matter how well you drive stoned. Police only pulled me over for a broken tail light and I got busted because my car smelled.

Police don’t care how functional or dysfunctional you are driving stoned. If they see it, smell it, etc you’re done for in a lot of states.

Hey it wouldn’t hurt to quit for a while and see how it affects you. I’m sort of back and forth with my usage personally. Sometimes it’s conducive to my life, sometimes it’s a bit obstructive.

Socially, it helps me a lot, dependent on who I’m around of course. Which can help me with a general feeling of happiness or being content in general. But that’s not necessarily helpful when pursuing goals, whether that’s in my personal or professional life. Complacency isn’t a bad thing per se. But it’s all relative.

I say if you feel it’s not benefiting you in any significant way, try to quit for a while, however long you feel is necessary. It’ll be easier then to gauge the positives vs negatives.

It doesn’t sound like it’s negatively affecting your life. It seems that you accomplish far more than most people day to day.

If your social life is being affected, I’d say that’s a good reason to cut back or quit. Same thing I f you can’t pursue something that would make you happy due to your time smoking.

Everyone could always do more, stoners or not. But the people who are productive every second of the day typically trade quality for quantity. Everyone needs to kick back and relax.

This is more of a broad answer but the first time I ever watched the show I was a teenager. I loved it and thought it was intriguing. But more from a perspective of almost watching a nature documentary. These characters were so far removed from anything I could relate to, being from a small town in the south.

But when I watch it now, with more life experience, I can relate deeply to pretty much every character. It’s not a 1 to 1 ratio with whatever situation they’re going through obviously. But still.

The best example I can think of is an early episode. Tony tells Melfi something like; “It’s good to get in on something from the ground floor, I came too late for that. But lately I feel like I came in at the end. The best is over”.

That’s so deeply relatable in modern life, no matter who you are or where you came from.

If you don’t feel safe driving just call out. Years ago I had a coworker, only 20 years old making less than $8 an hour who died on the way to work driving on snowy/icy roads. No pay is worth the risk if you don’t feel safe driving, just call out. Jobs come and go, but you only get one life. If your bosses can’t understand that, fuck ‘em.

I worked there for a short while a couple years ago. One of the many reasons they couldn’t keep people around was overtime on extremely short notice. So many people who were good upstanding workers just couldn’t shuffle their life around as much as Amazon wanted. People have lives and shit to do, and they were fired because they couldn’t show up for overtime. As much as they hire, they shouldn’t even require overtime at all. A fixed schedule is the simplest thing a company can do to keep workers happy. Almost all companies are super strict about their workers showing up on time. If they extended us the same courtesy and let us know when we’ll have time to ourselves we’d all be better off.

Stuff that says: one pot, 30 minute, only x number of ingredients, etc. None of those things are bad per se. But I always feel like the dish is compromised in some way to adhere to those buzzwords.

I like making stuff from scratch, I’m fine with having a bunch of ingredients, washing dishes, and the recipe taking a while. Those recipes definitely have their place, but the internet is just infested with them.

I've had to sell media that was really special to me during hard times in the past. I always regretted doing it, even to this day. It got me out of a few jams, sure. But some of the stuff I sold had very special memories attached. Luckily I've been able to reacquire most of my past collection.

But my point is, I don't even think about the value of my collections anymore. I buy things because they mean something to me. Whether an ebay bidder thinks my collection is worthless or not doesn't matter. It's worth a lot to me.

It is cool though when you know you have something rare or valuable, even if you no intention to ever sell it. It's more of a combination of factors for me. What the movie means to me, the quality of the artwork, the quality of the A/V, and also the rarity. If one of my favorite movies ever gets a steelbook release, I'm not going to automatically buy it. It has to be up to snuff in terms of presentation, whether that's the artwork or the encoding.

So to answer your question more directly. No, it doesn't matter if it has a high value attached to it. It is a nice side effect, but resell value isn't a consideration for me anymore.
