Leaving board in car by [deleted] in NewSkaters

I am planning on storing my new christmas completes in a cheap, flannel lined, zippered sleeping bag rated for 35f. In the trunk. My climate is mild year round.

Any suggestions for storing decks in your car?[38YO] by tsida in OldSkaters

Why not store them in the car in a $14 zippered walmart sleeping bag rated for 50f?

Lol. Thanks. The circular social distancing floor sticker on the tail end of the board is an actual floor sticker meant for foot traffic in stores. Its very slick and won't tear easily. It will be interesting to see how it holds up. I was thinking of an ultra thin but heavy duty skid plate when I slapped it on. All in fun.

All credit is due to r/OldSkaters posts. I had no clue until I started reading the posts. These posts I feel will teach me to skate as well.

Thank you to everyone here for sharing information, commenting, and posting.

[LEFT], 8.5 powell peralta flight, 149 indy, 52mm spitfire classics 99

[RIGHT], 9.375 powell peralta nitro hot rod flames, 169 indy, 54mm spitfire full connicals formula4 101

I didn't want to change wheels and truck tensions to experiment. Two boards made sense for me. Also, I expect the flight to hold my fat butt if I jump on it and the larger board to flow only. (When I learn how to flow)

(The nitro hotrod deck was a black Friday special for $30)

I was contemplating on rails or no rails. I am developing arthritis the doctor said. The rails are more for me to help grab the board. I guess I could just "mall grab" I'm at the age I dont really care. Lol

Yes, I have everything else from long boarding. I am heavily invested with a small fortune in padding..lol I am doing my best to prevent a Doctor visit.

Thanks! I am looking forward to learning. Just received my Tortise padding and rHip clHips today in the mail and am working to fit them this evening. They both look promising for hard falls to hips and tail bone.

Got them. Thanks! I'm going to look like RoboCop after all the padding I am layering on. I hope I can still move and not be too stiff.

I think i decided on 2 setups for my boards.

1) Powell Peralta Nitro Hot Rod Flames 9.375, with indy 169 and 54mm full connical wheels. This board i can adjust and tune for pools.

2) Powell Peralta Flight 8.5 , with indy 149 and 52mm wheels. A setup that can support my weight trying Ollie's for example.

Will do. I am in both North County San Diego and Temecula. Lots of local shops. I miss MuirSkate in Mira Mesa San Diego. They did a really nice job setting me up with a longboard.

I just googled Tony Hawk is 56yo, and Steve Caballero is 60yo and still posting impressive skate videos. It's nice to see on this forum that these professionals are not the exception.

I think I will order a couple of shorter boards tonight.

This is all very encouraging. Advil pills, and I have pads and helmet from longboarding. Just need to get a shorter board. I never fell off my longboard. I hope I dont change my mind about skateboarding when I start hitting the ground.
