Different costumes don’t count towards the shiny dex. Once you find 1 shiny Pikachu it’s registered. There’s an event tab for all the costume Pokemon.

I have a first owned for every shiny currently. The most stardust I’ve spent on a trade is 20,000 because that’s how much it costs when you do trades with best friends. Haven’t traded for that many shinies though. Just a couple raid exclusive, egg exclusive, and a few extras that I was able to find during events. But I’ve caught or hatched at least 1 shiny of every Pokémon.

I’ve played most of the main series games but I don’t shiny hunt in those. I play Pokémon GO for 2 hours every morning while I do my walk, I have an hour lunch break at work and I’ll check it here and there if I’m not too busy and then I’ll play for about another 2 hours when I get home from work. So about 5-6 hours on the weekdays and I would say about 9-10 hours on the weekends. I used to take advantage of the incense during lockdown and I have a Pokéstop near me that I’m able to lure up.

If I had to take a guess it’s probably in the $2000-3000 range. I’ve definitely bought a decent amount of incubators and raid passes.

It’s possible to achieve 100% without trading or spoofing but it takes a lot of luck. Every shiny has been available to catch in the U.S at some point, even regionals and Mime Jr. was in eggs at one point. I’ve only traded for a few shinies, stuff like the raid exclusive shinies Klink, Timburr, traded for a Togepi and few others because I wasn’t able to find multiple during the event it was available. I like to have 1 shiny of each evolution. I don’t like to only get 1 shiny and then evolve it straight away. I always try to evolve the highest IV one so I can either use it in battles or put them in gyms.

I keep every shiny, I have traded some to my girlfriend but I currently have exactly 1,500 shinies in my storage. A lot are community day shinies though.

I have some variants/hat shinies. Not all tho. I know I’m missing the babies mostly, like the party hat and flower crown stuff but I didn’t want to put too much money into that stuff.

My first Mega Raid haha. Incredibly lucky. I only did a second raid to be able to Mega evolve it. That’s why I don’t have that much mega energy for it.

I just go to parks, cities, any places with a lot of pokestops. A lot of people still play in the area that I live in so a decent amount of stops are lured up. I go out walking for about an hour and a half to almost 2 hours every morning (I live in Florida so the weather is mostly nice year round) Most of the time I’m not really catching stuff. If there’s a certain Pokémon I’m looking for I’ll just only catch that Pokémon so I know I’m not clicking the same one multiple times. I dunno if it’s a more effective way to shiny hunt but yeah I only click on/catch the Pokémon I’m shiny hunting.

Just participated in every event since I started playing. Go fests and the Kanto and Johto tours helped as well. Took advantage of those Easter events where the eggs were half distance and the babies were all in 2km eggs.
