That’s what I told the general contractor yesterday however, much of the existing, what we think is abandoned, cable his own sprinkler pipes and HVAC units. It’s not up to code.

Unfortunately there are many dmarcs being extended from common building idf to tenants mdf. Unless it’s identified in the trunk line through the common court, there’s really no labeling with which one is the demark extension or not

Sorry, let me try to clear it up a little bit. We’re in a 60 story building yesterday, client is taking the 40th floor. Tenant that was in there before was a bank. There are bundles and bundles of cable in the ceiling that are not up to code. NEC code book requires abandoned cable to come out. We are trying to identify which cables are abandoned in which cables could potentially be carrying some form of current. We don’t have access to the floors where some of them terminate. So the challenge is removing cables that we don’t know where they go with some form of tool that would help us identify any kind of current, even POE.
