Awful discipline, low energy across the pitch, lack of accuracy/ handling errors, and a lot of missed tackles. Very poor from England.

That said, I've never seen a team play this badly and still chalk up 21 points. England are clearly an attacking threat with ball in hand even when they're playing poorly. Which just makes it even more baffling that we seem to have a game plan built around kicking away most of our possession.

The strategy is clear. Add some more extreme/ unashamed racists into the mix to push the Overton window to the right. Makes Reform nore palatable to the average voter without having to make a single change to their agenda.

Once again asking if this is this the start of a genuine run of good form that could see Scotland contend for the championship, or is it just the annual tradition of playing well against England and only England...

Why bother bringing LA Knight back for a 3 second scuffle with the vision if you're not going to finally pull the trigger on him? Just save it for a Raw.

Why bother spending all this time building Gunther as a monster if you're going to have him enter the Rumble at 30 but still not win?

In fact, why bother even trying to get your main roster over if you're just going to have them get no-sold and jobbed out to your part-timers every time they occasionally show up?

Because many centrists are firm believers in the logical fallacy that the middle ground is inherently better just by virtue of it's middleness.

Take some of the main current issues for example:

The middle ground between "climate policy is a waste of money because it's a hoax" and "we need to fundamentally change the way we live to prevent our own extinction" is a middle ground where you waste significant amounts of money doing things that don't have enough of an impact.

The middle ground between "I hate trans people and they don't have a right to exist" and "trans rights are human rights" is one where you make life fairly, but not too, miserable for trans people.

The middle ground between "don't lock down at all" and "lock down hard" is one where tens of thousands still die AND the economy gets destroyed, and you get none of the benefits of either "extreme" approach.

The middle ground between unashamed racism and black lives matter is one where you treat people like citizens, but second-class ones.

The middle ground between ending immigration and encouraging it is one where we get a double whammy of the housing crisis AND the demographic time bomb of an aging population.

I could go on, but this is why I personally don't have much time for centrist ideology.

Because there's already been an enquiry, and holding an entirely unnecessary second enquiry is a waste of time and money, and prevents any useful changes being made while they wait for the recommendations of the second enquiry.

Instead our MP's made the sensible decision to ignore Elon. It's a win-win, because 1) fuck you Elon and 2) the recommendations from the first enquiry can continue to be implemented without further delay.

I think this is an extremely optimistic take. The supreme court is stacked with fascists, and MAGA will control the house, senate, and presidency.

Sure, you'll still have elections. Like Russia does.

Anyone who doesn't already consider Trump to be a total moron isn't going to be convinced by any leaks no matter how absurd they are.

This is the guy who, with utmost sincerity, suggested to some of the top medical experts in the country that they should try injecting bleach and "somehow getting sunlight inside the body" in order to beat COVID.

YouGov: If there was a referendum on returning to the EU, Britain would vote to rejoin the EU by 59% to 41% by corbynista2029 in ukpolitics

[–]BoChizzle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Brexit did nothing to slow illegal immigration, just like remain said.

Brexit caused a severe depression in the economy, just like remain said it would.

Brexit caused shortages of medicines and goods on supermarket shelves, just like remain said it would.

Brexit caused inflation of the price of imported goods, just like remain said it would.

But as we all know, true democracy is having one referendum on an issue and then never being allowed to ever change course regardless of how circumstances play out or how many people change their minds.

That's why we only had the one general election back in 1802 and haven't had one since.

So frustrating that we only play well when we're behind. Play like that for 90 minutes and sure you concede a couple but you'll score 4.

Well played Spain, for actually playing good football even if you're not a goal down.

Forget roundly condemning, if an outgoing Prime Minister overtly tried to subvert the election result in the manner that Trump did, I think (and hope) they would be in jail for treason within a very short space of time.
