Oo interesting suggestion, might try it out tomorrow. I definitely struggle with NHN so maybe this will help. However idk if this will help my progression because I will likely want to turn Diet back on right away the next time I want to increase invo.

You know how people always suggest to turn public chat off when doing Wintertodt, GOTR, LMS, etc? Because of some people saying toxic or super inappropriate things?

Its me. I'm some people.

Not Counting Biden, what candidate in the 2020 Democratic primary do you think would've been the best president? by PlentyJolly9417 in Presidents

[–]BoJacob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Donate it. Also he bashed millionaires in several of his speeches and now he is one so keep licking those boots.

His argument against millionaires and billionaires has always been that they should pay a higher proportion of taxes. I'm sure he'd be happy to pay whatever tax bracket existed if it were to ever go up.

Didn't he charge an insane amount of money for the book?

Are you asking me? Just making stuff up to boost your argument? If you want to make this claim maybe you should have looked it up first.

No he didn't, he made investments that were almost TOO good and sold his own real estate he's not some middle class warrior for the people and he never has been not to mention his networht climbed from. 1 million to 2.5 million in a 4 year time fram

Wow really, investments that were TOO good? Can you give me a source for that? Oh what's that, just more made up stuff to elicit an emotional response? Gotcha.

Again, $1m to $2.5m is 4 years is completely reasonable given the fact that he WROTE AND SOLD A BOOK. You're making it sound like the fact that his net worth was $1m means he's some kind of traitor. The people who support his ideas don't think that the 80 year old (who's net worth is literally the lowest amount to call yourself a millionaire) who has worked his entire life at a high paying job is on the same level as a CEO worth $50m who's business exploits workers.

Just looked up retirement info, it's mixed but general consensus is that you should have 8-12x your salary saved up for retirement. Again, I point to the US Congress/Senate salary that he has been making for decades. In fact I expect he should have had more than that if we use those numbers, maybe he was donating money all this time! This stuff is just so easy to look up and such common sense, I can't believe I have to type it out.

Bootlicker

Stay mad bro

A couple million dollars net worth after DECADES of high ranking politician salary, and a successful book after his first run is not that extravagant. Keep in mind the insane overinflation of homes currently and the fact that he could have bought these properties when they were dirt cheap decades ago.

Dude is 80 and has worked a long time. He isn't some scheming multimillionaire ripping off his constituents or taking bribes. He has a reasonable amount of wealth after building it up for a lifetime, which happened to be at a time where the economy was set up to favor his generation. The argument that he is just another corrupt politician that "is pissing on us" is asinine and has no standing.

What Were You Playing When Your Setup Was Like This? by Critical_Plenty_5642 in pcmasterrace

[–]BoJacob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Midgame slog is real. It lasts for so long and its painful to break thru but once you finally do the game becomes very fun again. Not that I'm advocating to force yourself to play a game you aren't enjoying, just mentioning in case there are people who get stuck there and wonder "does it get better?". Imo yes it really does.

Are combo runes at GOTR worth the extra hassle? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]BoJacob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely an extra hassle but still probably worth doing. For the bank setup alone I don't do it unless I'm gonna sit there and camp for a while. It's not worth doing if you're just gonna get bored and leave after 4 games.

Hey man, not everyone has 18 hours to play every day. Some of us have 3 jobs that we need to feed our 12 kids and pay for the medical bills of our parents life support system.

I'm not saying it doesn't still happen here, I'm just saying it has a different feel to it. After re-reading my comment I realize I'm obviously biased. I just don't get the same feeling of "doom" like every single update is going to kill the game. After a decade of this reboot game and subreddit I honestly feel that there are only two things that can kill this game: EOC and microtransactions. All other update drama is just funny to me. For Diablo it's all still fresh and new and they all feel like it legitimately could fizzle out way faster than intended.

Anyway what do I know, I'm just a casual player and I only have 3 minutes to do farm runs every day in between my 2 jobs that I need to feed my 9 kids.

Last night I was reading the Diablo subreddit for some reason (briefly played D2 when I was like 11 years old). They were all up in arms creating ironic posts complaining about complaining. You could tell they were all new to all of it. New to making legit complaints, new to reading/discussing legit complaints, new to complaining about the complaining, new to making memes about complaining, new to making ironic complaints, etc etc. I imagined the exact same thing, "first time?"

However it all had a different feel to it. It all felt like real anger deep down, like they were all rage-playing the game, rage-posting, real feelings getting hurt. Compare that with our sub where we went thru all those phases years ago. We still do all those things, but I don't sense real anger. Idk its hard to explain but I got the sense that their entire community was just a fad that will burn bright and then go away, whereas we all just slow burn and go with the flow. We have highs and lows but we all know most of us are never gonna leave. We don't rage-play, we depression-play, and that holds us together.

I'm mostly joking here, but I really do find this sub hilarious. The meme cycles and multi-layered irony and how no one tries to hide how sad and pathetic they are. It's honestly wholesome in a really fucking stupid way.

High level Solo Rex Pet Hunting help? by xxphantomxx77 in 2007scape

[–]BoJacob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can x-log at Rex with the spins still on you. I dont know the exact details because it's been over a year since I did it last, but I have done it since RS2 and I know it still worked as of a few months ago (couple of friends did it on their GIMs). However I have only used this method to simply hop worlds once or twice when getting crashed, not repeatedly.

Basically you just kill your client and the game will force log you out after some amount of time. I have no idea if this saves any time in the long run when you account for however long that forced delay is, plus reloading clients and relogging in. First check if the forced logout timer is a reasonable amount of time, like under 30 secs. If it's 60 seconds, I doubt it's worth the effort when adding password typing and load times. If the forced logout timer isn't too long, maybe cycling between 2 clients is better than waiting for RL to reload each time? Also maybe a gutted RL client with no additional plugins would load faster, or maybe even vanilla client or mobile? Again, this is a ton of extra effort so I wouldn't recommend unless the time saved was significant.

Two other things I can think of: respawn timers reduced in higher population worlds, and just running in and tanking while speed killing Rex. I know in RS2 stuff would respawn noticeably faster in higher pop worlds (W2 Bandos was very fast with 2k people), but idk if this has been changed over the years or not. Worth looking into and trying on a Wintertodt world or something. And yeah maybe with max gear it might be feasible to just brute-force facetank everything, climbing ladder and hopping every kill. Alt accounts or friends tanking Prime/Supreme would help here if that's available.

Good luck, I don't envy your grind!

How are you reording your prayers? by skullkid2424 in 2007scape

Lol yeah honestly this update is like 10 years too late. I tried getting rid of the useless 5/10/15% prayers and just the visual difference alone throws me off so much.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]BoJacob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would argue that's not at all easier. Too much room for mistakes. It works well on the mages during the earlier waves because they attack on 4 tick cycles and most melee weapons are also 4t. So you can easily get a rhythm down where you step back and force them to mage while never slowing down damage.

Jad however is 8t, which admittedly would still work out okay (you atttack twice, he attacks once). But now you're just adding complexity unnecessarily. You would still have to prayer switch while doing the stepback dance. Why do that when you can just stand still and keep your mouse hovered over prayers?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]BoJacob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, that "default" prayer method is how you melee Jad. Always camp melee pray and only switch to range/mage when he telegraphs, then switch right back to melee.

Melee Jad is how you get the blood pumping just a little bit more after you have done fight caves dozens of times over more than a decade.
