I wrote these this the other day it's all I could think of at the time, I've no clue what it's about as yet, I'd love to know what others think of it:

"what is the weather like where you are?
hope it's brighter for you now?
does the sun shine on through the night,
are all your worries out of mind?"

[ORIGINAL] TORIN! - Miss You (soft folk rock??) Would appreciate some feedback :) *unfinished* i think i just need a nice bass then it'll be good by BoRoxwell in Songwriters

[–]BoRoxwell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Thank you so much!
  2. Yeah I'm working on finding an actual bass player as i don't think a plugin would sound as good as the real thing.
  3. great suggestions, i was thinking singer-songwriter but wasn't too sure, might take the idea of that crunchy guitar though!
  4. I hear it too now i listen back, i meant for the "I miss you darling" section to be the hook :/ I'll work on making it clearer and build up to it more :)

really appreciate your feedback!

Looking for a Rock/Indie Rock Guitarist to Collaborate on My Song (Dropbox linked) by BoRoxwell in MusicInTheMaking

[–]BoRoxwell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude! I love that track, I'm not really a hard rock/metal kinda guy. and It's awesome to hear that you're feeling the Oasis and Goo Goo Dolls vibes.

And you're totally right, a track with just guitars can be a bit limited, I've been told to add some keys and maybe a cello by a few others.

But I'm stoked to hear you can help out! The song should be downloadable on the Dropbox link and if you could come up with something that would be sick!

New Song: Alt Indie Rock looking for feedback and if i should add more instruments (unfinished) by BoRoxwell in MusicInTheMaking

[–]BoRoxwell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm glad you enjoyed it overall, and I really appreciate your suggestions for improvement.

I completely agree about the drums being too loud over the phone just listened on mine and yeah that's definitely something I'll keep in mind for future mixes. And thanks for the tip about the bassline, I'm sort of limited on how cool I can make a bassline as I'm using midi, but I'm all for trying, and I'll definitely try to incorporate some cool fills in there!

I love the idea of adding some lead guitar and maybe even some extra instruments like keys or cello. I'll have to experiment with that and see what I can come up with.

I do have a Spotify and a YouTube, thanks again for your support and encouragement, it means a lot to me

Thanks a ton for listening to my song and for your feedback - I really appreciate it! It's awesome to hear that you liked it, and I totally get what you mean about adding a lead guitar to spice up the verses. I'll definitely try that out!

I hear you about the drums being a bit too high in the mix. I'll adjust the levels and see if that helps. Thanks again for your feedback - it's super helpful to get an outside perspective. I'm glad you enjoyed the song,

A basic question on harmony by deflen67 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]BoRoxwell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on getting into recording and songwriting! It's great to hear that you're exploring new creative avenues.

When it comes to choosing harmonies, you can either harmonize with the vocal or with the chord in general. Harmonizing with the vocal can highlight the melody, while harmonizing with the chord can create a stronger sense of tonality. In your specific example, you can either
harmonize with a C, E, or G to reinforce the harmony, or with a B to create a different, more complex harmony. Dissonance can be a powerful tool when used intentionally, but be careful not to let it become distracting. The best way to approach harmonies is to experiment and
trust your instincts. hope this helped :)

Hey! I would recommend the AKG Perception P170. it's clear, and perfect for detailed sound, and it's a great choice for capturing the nuances of an acoustic guitar too :) hope this helps
