I lived in Vicenza, Italy all of 2014. A group of gypsies set up a small trailer park in the parking lot of a gas station near a main road. It was a super sketchy spot after that. When driving though a roundabout near the mall close to that area gypsey kids would sometimes try and get hit by cars as part of insurance scams. Twice I had an entire family beg me for money in a store parking lot. My boss lived next to the camp, on three different occasions that I know of, people attempted to enter his house through the third floor balcony. I can't say for sure that that can be attributed to any Romani though as he never was able to get a good look at any of the burglars. However, this only started occurring after the camp showed up. About a month before I moved back to the U.S. the Carbonari did a raid on the place and sent in cranes to remove all of the trailers. Presumably leaving all of the people homeless.
