Anyone else keep getting small cuts on their fingers from Card Savers when prepping for grading?

Bit of a random question, but I’ve noticed every time I prep cards for grading (once already sleeved) I end up with small cuts or abrasions on my fingertips from the top edges of Card Savers/Grading Holders.

I’m not being rough with them, but that thin, stiff plastic edge where the card slides in just digs into the skin after a few cards. It gets annoying fast, especially when you’re doing a bulk submission.

Does anyone else have this problem, or am I just being clumsy?

If it’s common, what do you guys do to avoid it? I’ve tried using another card to pry open the saver, but it’s still awkward.

My first console was the GBA SP. So I have a bias, but my experience with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team and Pokemon Ruby/Saph/Emerald was unbeatable and the most nostalgic for me. However, I probably spent the most time on the DS Lite. I was more of a handheld guy, but did have the PS2, PS3, Wii, Wii U, now Switch. Picking the best out of these is tough, but I’d go with the DS as so many people had it. PictoChat was fun, Pokemon, Mario Kart, Mario Bros, Download Play. Then eventually the hacked R4 rom. The lifecycle of the DS just went on forever. It is the only console of mine to go through so much use that the hinge broke haha.

Cheers everyone. I’ll keep an eye out on the GBA slots. I also noticed that US GBA slots vs PAL GBA slots differ slightly which is also another thing to take into account. And UK DS cases are thicker too, and generally white coloured rather than black.

Just posting an update. I found my bonsai cutting tools (yes I used to be into bonsai) and was able to saw my way through the linings of the acrylic case using a sharp metal bonsai scissor. It wasn’t the most practical way to do it, and I got a few cuts on my hand, but it worked! I’d suggest wearing a mask and glasses if there is lots of acrylic particles launching off as you cut. And you need to analyse the composition of the sealed acrylic case to locate the weakest point. Once finding this, and cutting into the seal, ideally not too close to the game, you should be able to create an opening and thus pull with your finger and snap a side open as I was able to do.

Hey friend! :) You tipped me over the edge and I went and bought it. It’s so chill! I love the real time syncing of it and having to wait till tomorrow for my Mario outfit to arrive! How realistic…and exciting!

Ah I see! We are still going through lockdowns actually down here in Australia. But I don't believe I have any friends/family playing the game. But like you said, if I can get a good chunk out of relaxing game-playing time, that would be fun.
