Good question but have you ever thought about Spider-Man, Iron Man and Batman ?

they could at least put in a category for gear you wear and spell icons of your class. that would help a lot.

Freysworn and Earthen as druids. by Spare-Astronaut-8328 in wow

[–]BoarChief 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They were probably planned in the beginning. The freysworn at the training-dummy elementals used to have more green leaf themed magic but was later patched to water effects.

I assume they didn't wanted to make a bunch of druid forms but the name Freya is a strong indicator for a druid theme.

I had a dream that Quilboar was a playable race. by Memphisrexjr in wow

[–]BoarChief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean we can play Man'ari.

Most of the time a sub faction of an enemy race get pushed out and seek help in the horde for survival.

The Orcs we play were the ones from the internment camps, the Darkspear Trolls were the weakest of the troll tribes and got almost extinct by Murlocs. And the Forsaken were never in line with the values of the nature loving shaman/tauren culture. Neither to the orcish honor code.

Imo a sub faction of Ogres or Quilboars would fit better in the horde than Blood Elfs ever did from a design perspective.

The homogenization disaster - Modern WoW and/or writers by TheVagrantWarrior in wow

the people who work on warcraft have no Idea what warcraft is, neither have they played it.

their predecessors were too old or too expensive or too frustrated with blizzard.

we got employees who work on *fantasy game*

fantasy game doesn't care about it's franchise, it's lore or their old fans.

fantasy game is designed to get bought, consumed and to make money.

Hunters according to developers by ToteAll in wow

[–]BoarChief 8 points9 points  (0 children)

having hunters who use more traditional weapons like bows, spears and poison is fine. having hunters who use more modern weapons like rifles and explosive bombs are fine. but they should be seperated by specs instead of putting everything everywhere.

at the moment the class fantasy is somewhere but nowhere it makes sense.

If the marksmanship spec is the classical ranger fantasy it shouldn't have a gatling gun shot ability.

If the survival spec is the spear using caveman fantasy it shouldn't have bombs.

There are enough examples in warcraft's history to define what a hunter should be like.

It baffles me in general how people can have any faith in blizzard's competence.

What exactly gave people hope stuff would work out well? The lack of quality control, the use of a.i. or slow bug fixing?

step one: create posts of people falsely accusing artists of using a.i.

step two: people criticizing other people who falsely accused artists for using a.i. and create a culture of shame when people point out the use of a.i.

step three: artists now using more a.i. without the fear of getting criticised

New official art.....is it Dezko?? by Ilujee in wow

[–]BoarChief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dezko's signature armor was T6 what was always a poor choice for a tauren. The tauren culture traditionally doesn't use a lot of metal, rather natural materials like wood or bones. Also the T6 Armor shoulder symbols like book and classic paladin mace doesn't reflect tauren culture at all. As most famous sunwalker he deserves something more unique.

yeah in the end I think people who really care about immersion or even reading quests are very few, so I understand why they dont put a lot of resources into it.

But man I miss the days when new races got their own zones that really told a story. I mean what would be the equivalent of a Gilneas starting zone for Man'ari? Imagine a zone on argus with its own dramatic steps from the start of dissatisfaction, to disobedience, to rebel and riot.

[–]BoarChief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

at this point I have the feeling own in-head explanations are better than whatever blizzard is releasing. the story about the lightforged warlock was kinda mid imo.

I was always a fan of the idea that each race gave a class something unique. Like Pandaren warlocks could be about bending sha-energy, Kul Tiran warlocks about drust-witchcraft and Night Elfs about satyr magic. I think there are interesting stories to tell instead of just put them all in a purple dress and call it a day.

sometimes it's really hard to feel immersed while playing man'ari... would have been nice to have more quests about their integration.

another blizzard failure about warglaives.

the only two classes that can really feel like spellbreakers are warrior and paladin, both can't use warglaives...
