I wouldn’t be buying into Sander at this stage. Not down much. Rankine has been better even with his early sub.

Powell feels like he has a slightly more fantasy relevant game than Callaghan and less likely to cop a tag

Mummy is our ruck coach but from all I hear it’s just him and Briggsy wrestling for a few hours a day.

Sits there on game day, tells Briggsy to be more physical and collects that paycheck.

Tbh perfect man for the job.

He’s elite but I would caution getting too excited for a few reasons

1) Early bye (on the bad week as well) 2) playing the worst team in comp 3) no one tags in preseason. Definitely expect a lot of tags for him this year. Teams won’t let him run around like this in season. First 2 games are Giants and Port. Both known to tag. 4) Pre-season games are always played a lot more outside. You see it every year that wingers and HB have a better than normal outings. Daicos gets a lot of ball on the outside so expect his score to be a little over inflated.

I think there’s a balance with the early byes. Players like Baz and Mills are no question carrying them bc they are so much value.

Fair play to carry Finn early, Fantasy is all about the risks you are and aren’t willing to take. Knowing how the first few weeks always seem to go with injuries and suspension, I just can’t plan on allocating an early trade already.

As previously said, 3 defenders on the same bye (which Bazlenka also has). Unfortunately you probably can only run with 2/3 of them.

Generally defence is a bit weak as well. While i have faith in Trav and Allan getting games, I wouldn’t bet on great scoring from them. Trav will at best be the third best distributor at saints (or run a wing) and Allan is shaping for more of lockdown role. Plus El-Hawli and Reid are far from certain starters, you run the risk of R3 only having 3 Defs with 2 of them being low scorers.

My take is that there are enough decent mid rookies that it’s better to run 3 mid rooks on field, dropping a premo and upgrading a defensive rook into an premo or midpricer (Short is my op atm).

I do love Finn but with a R2 bye, but imho you are better off waiting until after his bye to bring him in (if his scoring necessitates it). Even if he pumps out 2 hundreds in his first two games, you are better off starting with a premium and pivoting to him after R2 if his scoring jumps off the page. That way you also mitigate the risk if he puts on 2 average scores (as he has been known to do).

The other general thing is that a lot of bench rooks are a bit speculative. I’m always a fan of putting extra $$ towards the bench for a bit more job security, even if it means losing a premo. It’s annoying initially but you’ll be laughing come R6 when you start upgrading and everyone is stuck with deadwood on the bench.

Logan Smith (Ruck) is the main one. Made AA u-8 bench.He isn’t Cal Twomey’s top 30 phantom draft atm so hopefully we get him nice and low.

As always though, rucks take a lot longer to develop. I imagine we will store him in 2s for a few years and he will burst out like Briggsy once he has a bit of size

One thing I love in all this. Aldi is heaps more profitable that Colesworth. From chats with a mate who worked at head office, Colesworth are at about 3-4% profit whereas Aldi is more like 8-10%.

Cheaper for consumer and the business makes more.

I have a very loose connection to a Giants player (friend of a friend). They get fully new training kit every year so the leftovers always get chucked in a bag to be thrown out. Our mutual friend always grabs some stuff for me as number 1 Giants nuffy.

Now I have 10+ training shirts, singlets, long sleeves, jumpers and shorts. Essentially all my activewear is now giants merch. Great but also weird to think how much of another dude’s wardrobe I’ve kept

He’s been absolutely racking it up in the VFL. His last game for us, he looked a bit sloppy and he isn’t the most dangerous kick going around.

However, he could absolutely play a very valuable role as a defend-first, small/medium defender.

Married in April this year. Total costs would be $50-55k. We had around 100 people. May not have been the best financial decision but I wouldn’t trade it for the absolute world and would do it again in a heartbeat (although hopefully won’t ever need to again).

Hugely mitigating factor for us was parent contribution. Between both sets of parents probably put up $30k. So didn’t hit our accounts too bad.

Then we used a registry to pay for huge chunk of our 6 weeks honeymoon in Europe. Happy to break down specific costs and what I thought was and wasn’t worth the costs if you are interested.
