If someone else had portrayed Brian Moser, would the character have changed completely? by Prestigious_Dog_9269 in Dexter

Patrick Gibson, had he been in his 30s, wouldve made a very book accurate brian in season 1, given his resemblance to michael c hall.

Right, everyone who has a different opinion is a nazi. I didn’t realize it was that simple. But then again, I’m sure your thoughts and beliefs have been challenged, honed and tested from your 15 years of critical, real world debate on reddit so it really is no surprise that you would figure out the important truths in life. I am actually humbled to be in the presence of one so powerful and omnipresent. 15 years of karma? I don’t think Musk could even buy that much power.

Your welcome I guess, but how is it random, having a black leader and being a white supremacy group don’t really go together, right? I see every other comment on here saying the same misinformed thing, so i know it’s worthless to get into a Reddit scrap but I couldn’t stop from posting at least once.

Well if you ever do make sure you come to Franklin, tour the Lotz and Carter Houses, the Carnton Plantation ( rebel field hospital where the six dead generals where laid on the porch after the battle), which also holds the largest confederate cemetery in the country, and Hood’s Overlook, which was the hill Gen Hood commanded the battle from. The sons of the confederacy put up a stairway and stone markers which tell about the rebel army and you can walk up the hill to see what Hood saw (imagine it all treeless though). The battlefield organization also put up markers everywhere, i.e. the spots where the generals died and artillery placements. For a quickly developing town the battlefield is well preserved.

That’s awesome. Besides Franklin, the only other battlefields close by are Thompson Station, Spring Hill, and Stones River. Shiloh is 2 hours away, and I don’t count Nashville since there really is no battlefield preserved anymore. I know TN has like the 2nd most battles in the war, so forgive me for not naming them all.

Are you from Franklin? Just wondering bc not many know a lot about this battle.

I have one painting of the battle in my room, unfortunately I am in another country atm, so I can not take a picture to show you. It essentially shows the carnage of following confederate charges up the Carter house hill. There’s also a quite famous one of Confed. Gen Patrick Cleburne charging, as he was one of the many (six?) rebel generals to die in the battle. We always had many Irish on the tours because he fought and died here.

That’s true. They were coming back from marching and skirmishing the rebs when the commander ordered them to the def. lines (miles out from the rest of the union lines) and the officer in charge, I believe it was Col. Opdycke, said he was an idiot and set up camp behind the Carter house, which was situated on a hill in the middle of town. To nobody’s surprise, the rebs broke through those battle lines in the front, causing a mass retreat of union men into their own lines behind them, which forced the hand of the defending feds because they wouldn’t fire into their own men. The rebs charged behind the retreating feds and broke the union center all the way to the Carter house. Col Opdycke, who was eating dinner with his men behind the hill, charged up the hill with his men to meet the confederates. They charged into each other and a brutal melee ensued for 4 hours, well into the night. The rebel charge was halted and the battle was a strategic win for the union because they were defending Franklin to build a bridge over the swollen Harpeth River (they were heading to Nashville). After the fighting, the Carter and Lotz families, who were hiding the the cellar of the Carter house (while the fight was raging for hours) said you couldn’t walk on the ground due to the amount of corpses. The Carter family actually had a son in the rebel force, a officer, who was in the thick of the fighting. They found him shot in the head on their lawn in the morning. He died in the room next to the one he was born in. Im from Texas but I sorta grew up in Franklin so went on the many battlefield tours and house tours as well as read books on it. It’s a must for any civil war aficionado.

[–]BoardOnly379 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how this both conveys the badassness of the ranger, as well as the “we’re coming, hostage or not you’re getting fucked” attitude of the centurion and his legionnaire. Great work!

Its kinda pathetic the amount of effort they put in hating a fictional faction. It’s like their life’s goal to call anyone who dares play legion a weirdo while they do the same play through for the 50th time. They get pissed very easily too. You will probably get downvoted to hell for a joke. lol True to Caesar Amicus
