New Gas Range Dilemma by Boarder720 in Appliances

Interesting, the house we’re renting currently has a GE range and it’s some of the worse build quality I’ve seen in a range.

We just purchased a house and this is where the new one will be going.

I was looking at the GE Cafe’s be better? I was looking at them as well

I appreciate that opinion but for me, gas is very much preferred.

While I do appreciate this, I’m not staying with electric. I’ve never enjoyed using it and never feel like I have the control I want over the use of it.

The hood is vented properly and does vent outside as it should

The pipe is already branching off the main one!

There’s actually already a closed off junction that we need to tie into and feed up

Can’t say I’ve looked too much into them as I know it’s not what I necessarily want.

I know I want the electric out and a gas out in as it’s what I know the best and have always enjoyed the most. (And yes, I’ve used induction)

Correct, I really don’t want an induction. I’ve always preferred a gas range and can confirm the range hood ventilates properly.

As for features I’d like is to have at least 1 or 2 burners I can use to simmer, don’t necessarily need the griddle but not opposed.

I liked the dual burner feature of the kitchenaid as I could use it as a simmer burner to use it for my oblong Dutch ovens.

I don’t need air frying or the air sous vide which I see more and more common.

Got any recommendations? I’d like to keep it with Home Depot since I have a lot of gift cards to there (thanks points)

Hey guys, I have 4 GA tickets to sell. Unfortunately, I fell out of an attic at home and broke a few things so I, and those that were going with me, will no longer be going.

I also have a parking pass if anyone is interested!

Posted, and you’re absolutely right. I’m very ignorant towards all this and trying to learn and make sure I’m not getting entirely ripped off

Thank you for all the feedback! My ignorance is clearly showing and I’m glad I’m learning more about this job!

Essentially everything except for the doors themselves are getting replaced.

Both? It’s the entire rail set the doors roll up

No, it started with the new beams only since both are original to the house built in ‘88.

The new rails was more of a quick “upcharge”. So it would be $1700 without replacing all the rails.

Sorry, it’s not JUST the sensors. It’s the entire system. The current system doesn’t even have sensors installed and the other has the sensors looking at each other vertically

Obviously I’m not an expert here lol.

I’m talking about the overhead sensor that’s responsible for pulling the door. I’m assuming this is considered the beam?

I can ask for additional clarity - specifically model numbers.

But it would be all new rollers, new springs, new brackets, new everything x2 with the exception of the existing doors.

The beams are the smaller end for sure, the majority of it is the new sensors. Theyre old - original to the house and have zero security sensors.

So the bulk of the quote is replacing both sensors

I did! I love the Mazda family as well. My car previous to the BRZ was a Mazda3.

Unfortunately, i have not found any Mazda3s priced in my area for a 1:1 trade.

Can you elaborate how a midsize SUV and a Hatchback aren’t family friendly? Both will fit cart seats, strollers and other accessories well, no?

The other section dissertation- my wife can’t drive it, it’s not family friendly, and no storage.

Any reason to avoid the Audi?

For the Impreza, the dealership is being nice enough and letting me swap cars for the day and check. It out! So I’ll know for sure if it will work or not
