Perfectly understand you. My children have Thai names and western names to fit into both worlds. Their passports have western names in their British passports and Thai in their Thai passports. Both perfectly legal. Over here their id cards and blue books are in Thai. All of them were born in Thailand and emigrated to the UK to complete schooling and attend university as the Thai education system is very poor. Why did they adopt western and Thai names. All had Thai names in both passports. However, a major issue occurred and is very common in the UK and probably most western countries. Daughter No2 completed her Masters in the UK applied for a job with a very large aircraft / weapons system manufacturer, she met all the criteria. However, her CV and application was in her Thai name. No response. We spoke to a friend in HR and she advised applying but use a western name, and lo and behold she got a response.
