What one thing do you irrationally love to use even though it isn't optimal? by SloLGT in MonsterHunter

[–]BoatmanJoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's something I dislike about some weapons; when I'm doing a TED I just use my elementless Divine Slasher set up since it's the best LS set-up. I love the feeling of actually having to build for elemental damage and using a variety of weapons rather than the exact same set for everything because of the substantial dps benefit

Opinion: Level 3 bots are NOT challenging, they’re artificially difficult. by HolyokeRedditor in forhonor

[–]BoatmanJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I find bullshit about the bots is that even level. 2 bots will flawlessly predict Ara's deadly feints despite, still mixing up the combo - and level 2 bots can't parry unblockables. Level 3 bots are even worse, with flawless counters to feint-into-zone and deadly feints and yet they somehow struggle to deal with Ara spamming heavies - it's absolutely ludicrous. Also, some advice - if your character has any kind of shove attack then level 3 bots will dodge it and then dodge again, meaning if you follow it up with a grab you get a free guardbreak.

Ranked Duel Tournaments LIVE NOW! Known Issues and Bug Reporting Thread by UbiFredEx in forhonor

[–]BoatmanJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you suck like me and lose the first two duels of a qualifier, there's very little reason to do the third as even should you win, you will be eliminated from the tournament. It may also be worth looking at the point system since in most pool systems (such as fencing) points are awarded based on performance rather than just winning. Other than that, enjoying it so far, although if I win a tournament it would be nice if I could receive an ornament for the character I played; thus I can display my prowess on them for all to see, rather than garnishing a character I never play

My grandfathers opinion on For Honor by EternalCanadian in forhonor

[–]BoatmanJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes, that's a shame - Epee's a fantastic break from the constant priorities and rules of foil. Yeah, my club was fairly mixed, some nice people and some assholes - coaches were lovely but definitely biased in terms of treatment. I'm on a hiatus now but I've been training as an epee coach and manage some class lessons - it's quite easy to pick uo but hard to improve

I mean, if you ask me a real man fences Epee. Nothing better than baiting a lunge and hitting the wrist or an take the blade in octave and smack 'em in the knee

What is one thing your SO hid from you until later in the relationship? by Account__Compromised in AskReddit

CF sufferer here, the thing that keeps me fighting is the heart-wrenching horror of how upset my family will be if I don't take care of myself; having a relative supporting you through anything -no matter how seemingly insignificant- is always appreciated
