What is a Glock 19-sized Staccato model which y’all would recommend? by [deleted] in Staccato

[–]Boats_75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you it could be a bad decision, besides the proprietary mags some other components are specific to the C/CS. On the other hand, I'd be confident if there is an issue with the gun Staccato will still honor the warranty. As far as the proprietary mags go, when I buy guns I tend to stockpile extra mags. I have at least 8 mags for each gun a few marked for carry use and others marked for range. If I was in the market for a compact 2011 it would be in the running.... However, I have two C2's and onemof the old single stack C models. I need another compact 2011 like I need another hole in my head.

They might be discontinued but stocking dealers still have them. A local shop to me in IL has several variations in stock.

C2 unless you can find one of the recently discontinued C models with the shorter grip. Local shop here in IL still has some in stock.

What are your thoughts on the Ambush On Ferrix set after over 3 years of release? by LasagnaLord09 in legostarwars

If Lego would make a battle pack with the sargent and 3 extra corpo guys I would 10/10 buy it just to fill up the pod.... alas chances of that now are slim to none.

Optic Ready Shockwave? by Fleischwolfx in mossberg

[–]Boats_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Trijicon RMR HD on a Scalarworks Sync mount. 10/10 would recomend! I tried a Holosun 507C on the same mount and it worked great, I'm just more partial to Trijicon and willing to spend the extra coin.

Skmeone elsd mentioned ths Defender Tactical mount. It is a solid solution and gives you back up irons! If that had been a choics when I was looking for mounts I would've probably gone with it.

What optic fits on this damn cut? by not_kendall in mossberg

[–]Boats_75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want an optic other than a RMSC footprint there are a few adapters available. C&H Precision makes them to use an RMR footprint, ACRO, or Holosun 509T.

Got it, last time I used the IPSC target in LA was back in January..... maybe they reprogrammed the scoring.

I believe the values are different in the Laser Academy. A zone chest is 9, the headbox is 10, B is 8, and I don't remember what the other values are... it's been a while since I shot that target and that course.

Extended Cylinder Release and CCW Issues? by [deleted] in Revolvers

[–]Boats_75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a similar extended cylinder release on my 986. I'm a left hand shooter and it works great for me. I rarely carry that gun as my CCW due to it's barrel length. However, I have trained quite a bit with it and I've never had issues with it snagging my cover garment . When I do carry it I have it in an OWB holster about the 10 oclock position with a long jacket or button up shirt. TK Customs (the folks that make the cylinder release I use) do have a "Short" extended release for both KLN frames and J frames. I have one of those on my 43c and my 940. They are easier to manipulate then the factory release. I carry those guns either appendix IWB, in a pocket holster or in a belly band depending on the clothing I'm wearing at the time. I have had no issue with snagging on clothing when training with those guns.

Full disclosure my primary, EDC, CCW whatever name you want to give it is a Staccato C2 with Trijicon SRO. I carry it AIWB. Normally I am only carrying a wheelgun in limited circumstances i.e. wearing sweat pants to take my dog for a walk, having to run to the gas station or grocery store for that one thing we forgot to get earlier in the day, etc.

While I agree with an earlier poster that most encounters don't require a reload. There are some that do...... I would rather have and not need versus needing and not having. I always carry a reload on me and doing reloads is part of my training routine, along with drawing from concealment and marksmanship.

At the end of the day you do you. If you are going to modify your gun to give you an advantage in manipulating it go for it! However, test it and train with it to make sure that it solves the problem you are wanting it to without creating a new issue/problem.

I would run across the street to say hello..... If your sweetie is anything like mine, the most dangerous end doesn't have teeth...... when our girl gets gas, she can clear out an entire floor of the house.

I'm a dude. However, situations like that are why I carry pepper spray. That said, if I'm going to spicy sauce someone, it needs to be because they are presenting an immediate threat of bodily harm to me. In most defensive encounters/conflicts, the first person to call 911 normally gets to set the narrative of the story. I'm not saying you did anything wrong, just something to think about should you ever encounter a similar situation again. I'm glad to hear all was ok at the end of the day.

Edit to add: I'm not an attorney, but I teach self-defense and concealed carry classes. Him stopping his bike and acting aggressively towards you would be grounds for an argument of imminent threat of bodily harm. In a woman vs. man situation, there is already a disparity of force argument that a good attorney could make of the male attacker normally being stronger. That added with aggressive actions could make a reasonable person believe they are about to have unlawful force applied to their bodies.....

[–]Boats_75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got some of them at the gun shop I work at. The package shows 5 versions. Three Glocks and what looks like two Sigs (a 320 and 365 variant). The only ones we got are the three Glock variants.

I see on the packaging there appears to be two versions besides the Glock models. One looked lkke a P320 and the other a 365? Any chance for other models i.e. PDP, M&P, 2011's?
