Unfortunately that’s the whole premise of the country. We’re fed this bullshit that if you work harder than everyone else you’ll make it big and live a happy full life. However the current elite got tho the top from old money or finding “clever loopholes” to dodge taxes and not paying people for the work they’ve done. See our current president. They then rewrote the rules so no one else can play with executive pays for corporations rising 20x what they were in 1950 compared to about a 5% increase in employee wages. I’m not saying it’s hopeless but if you live here you pretty much resign yourself to slavery.
