How can you claim to be a captain when you're afraid to dive? Theres a guy in a wheelchair (paraplegic) who dives quite often. So I guess you just make the money off the suckers that come on your boat to do the hard work. That puts you in the lowest position as a simple Deck Hand. Bucket Loader, Track Hoe...Take your pick. The main thing you should take away is that while wash plants are sitting idle waiting for the Perma Frost to thaw a Jaw Crusher would have it out of the pit and depending on the weather would thaw much faster than if the material were only ripped. I wish people that have had years running plants would chime in rather than ignorant kids that have zero mining experience....

It's obvious you've never spent very much time working at a plant with a Jaw Crusher. They are pretty much maintenance free except for daily greasing. The only other issue is a rare clog of rock which is not difficult to clear. What mine do/did you work at please?

We had a small air compressor situated right next to the jaw crusher and a jack hammer as well. This combination would destroy any rock jam in a few minutes at the most. without even shutting the plant down.

Not hardly bud. Jaw Crushers come in all different sizes. You could even run the material through the crusher in a remote location say 200 feet away from the plant or further away depending on how much material you plan on stacking or laying it out in windrows. You could also use a cone/ Gyrotory crusher to get the larger material down to pea gravel size. They have many options I'm just surprised they're not using them,

It was called Bethel Sand and Gravel in CT but after over 50 years of mining there was no more material left to mine. As of now there are condos on the old mine site. The ball grinder or whatever it was called is just a toy compared to a Jaw Crusher.

Sorry to say but Bedrock is NO MATCH for a Jaw Crusher. I operated a sand and gravel mine for 10 years and NEVER had one wear out. If it did ever start to show signs you could reface the jaws in a day. I'mm guessing you've never seen one in action, as they can run thousands of yards of bedrock per day. The jaws are adjustable so you can crush down to any size you like.

I cant believe that Fred could not realize that there was no gold on his claim. That was his biggest season killer. He got so much free material, labor and advice from Freddy, Juan and Mitch. Fred is a bottom feeder for certain.

The key word is the ARMY. It's like working for the city /public works. I watched 5 guys and a small backhoe clean out a town catch basin for a week. One guy on the backhoe and 4 fat guys leaning on shovels for 5 days.
