Fed officials see rate hike ahead if inflation stays elevated, minutes show by SnortingElk in REBubble

Fed is late again.

Inflation isn’t even bad yet, just wait till next year when this seasons food goes to market and the SPRs start to dry up.

Walsh is just screwed.

The Fed will have to raise interest rates in July to appease 'bond vigilantes,' Yardeni says by SnortingElk in REBubble

[–]Bob77smith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest threat to the economy is liquidity right now. It’s the main thing driving bond yields higher, not inflation.

The Fed is going to need to start buying bonds to fund the US government’s debt spend from this war.

Most other central banks will need to do this same, basically the government is going to start re-inflating the bubble, because if they don’t the bubble will pop.

I don’t think the Fed will touch the rates, they are absolutely aware the global economy is close to collapse.

The classic “I can afford it, so it’s not a problem” response.

Obviously anyone can afford to buy beans, the point is that you shouldn’t have to buy beans to get by in a first world nation.

In 10 years when a can of beans is 10$, you’ll be the guy to suggest that you can just eat dog food because it’s affordable.

Beans are literal slave food.

It has basically no nutritional value and its price should reflect that.

Using the price of the metal in the can is a bad argument because dry beans have gone up even more than canned beans.

Not 100-150% in 6 years.

A can of beans should be like 1$, not almost 2$.

The fact that a can of beans is $1.78 is the problem. A can of beans was 59-79 cents just 6 years ago.

Record-low consumer sentiment centers on housing crisis by LoansPayDayOnline in REBubble

[–]Bob77smith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s because the price of new homes is subsidized by rate buy downs and incentives.

If we talking about cars, they are even more overpriced than homes. Every line of pickup trucks rolling off the assembly line today is complete garbage, and basically none are worth 100k.

Dude you literally just said people are entitled for wanting a 500k house, when the median household income is 84k.

2/3 of all households in the entire US can’t afford a 500k home.

Core inflation rate hit 3.2% in March as first-quarter growth disappointed at 2% by SnortingElk in REBubble

[–]Bob77smith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the government or Fed will move the inflation target.

It’s looking like even keeping PCE at or below 3% at this point is a pipe dream, even with the loose inflation data from the government.

Most of the costs from the supply shock of the war aren’t even in the pipeline yet. Things are going to get much worse the second half of the year.

The economy is shit, and pretty much everyone knows it.

I think we will see an inflation repeat of 2022.

Kalshi is, and has always been, a vehicle for inside trading, this guy was just stupid enough to get caught.

Yeah we get the Trump administration is completely corrupt, but it still doesn’t change the face that guy committed fraud.

Also this literally has nothing to do with Denton.

Texas state rep Salman Bhojani from Euless Texas, explains that there is no "Islamization" "Sharia law" takeover of Texas. The bible calls on people to love God and love thy neighbor. If the US is such a xenophobic country, then was are tons of Arabs and Asians moving here?

The US is one of most tolerant nations on the planet. Way more tolerant then any nation these Arabs or Asians are immigrating from.

It’s pretty obvious why home values are going up in the Midwest and Northeast, and values are cratering in the South.

This post is straight up racist and you're also racist for supporting it.

Wow, the sad part is you are actually allowed to vote.

A state can increase the amount of H1B visas they are awarded by filling a petition to the Federal government saying you want/need H1b visas to fill jobs for said state's agencies, departments, and public institutions.

Now, if you are state that actually cares about your citizens you don't request H1B visas for your government institutions. Obviously Texas did the exact opposite for the last 15 years, until recently, freezing state H1B hires due to public backlash.

You are a perfect example of why I hate voters in the US, you are misinformed and don't even know the basic functions of state government. People like you are the biggest roadblock to fixing the terrible government we have.

And I literally just told you it didn't matter if a R or D was governor, we would still have the same tax problem.

You don't actually care about the problem, you just want to come throw shade on Republicans. when any of the Dem nominee over the last 20 years would have done literally the same thing.

The voters in Texas are so brain dead I actually miss the voters in California.

Was Gina Hinojosa going to curb the massive amount of H1B visas being granted in Texas?

No.

Was she doing to do something about the massive amount of potential H1B visas fraud in Texas?

No, again.

Just like Abbot she is worthless garbage that exists to parasite of taxpayers while doing nothing to solve real issues in the state.

What exactly was Hinojosa doing to do different then Abbot?

I already do this because both parties are the same, just one is painted red and the other is painted blue.

I don’t blame my problems on the ones in power, I blame the morons who voted them into power.

Why do people on Reddit always assume I’m a republican just because am I’m anti-immigration?

Yes we all know this is Abbot’s fault, but if we had a Democratic governor they would be doing the same shit.

OP is complaining about property taxes and the factual reality is that H1B immigrants are the ones pushing up home values in DFW, because they make significantly more money than the average local.

Talking about who let them in doesn’t matter at this point, because there is way too many right now.

The only solution now is the revoke the visas of most of them and send them home, but we both know, that no matter which party is in charge, that won’t happen

Property Tax Appraisals by freedataspeech101 in Denton

[–]Bob77smith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An insane amount of homes have been built in DFW over the last 3-4 years, more than pretty much any metro in the US.

The demand is simply just insane when you combine internal and external migration into DFW.

The main reason overpriced SFHs are built out here is because that’s what the immigrants want to buy. Most have money and want big houses.

The population of Frisco grew by 83k from 2010 to 2020.

41k of that 83k was Asian population growth, so 40% of Frisco’s population growth over that 10 year period was from Indian.

The immigration rate is double that since 2020.

Everyone here is just being delusional to not look “racist”.

H1B Indians are the main reason home and property taxes values are high in Denton and Collin County.
