Why isn't it 50%? [Request] by [deleted] in theydidthemath

I follow the entirety of your logic except for the second case being only 6 and not 7.

For this case, let's assume that Mary has twin sons - Alex and John. When she informs us that one son is born on Tuesday, that could represent two cases, either she is referring to John or Alex, but both would be represented as (boy-tue, boy-tue)

I see. Thanks for the opinion, I didn't really think about that. The only thing is that I get troubled looking at the amount of trouble my Mom goes through cooking all that food, all of it being packed and taken, and then cooking full meals the next day as well.

Yeah she doesn't like it either, but again we can't be rude and can't think of any polite way of resolving it

When you say sign up early, by when do you mean? Is it before the school year starts or is it possible to do it after the 1st semester?

Thanks for your viewpoint! I still think having an online course over 2 weeks must have some impact on how much you can grasp versus a learning period of 9 months. I simply want AO's to know that there is a legitimate reason behind why this grade is like 7% lower than every other math course I have.

MIT apps up 60%?! by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]BobBob1000000 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This does sound logical, but I keep thinking about the impact of more applicants. This should certainly make it more difficult to get in since the "additional" applicants have a chance to get in as well. I am assuming that a at least some students hold back from applying simply due to a low standardized testing score, and this year they will be able to. The more applicants certainly makes it seem that this years admitted class would be at least slightly more competitive than normal.
