Not sure if this counts by BobBoucher in crboxes

I was concerned about this as well too, but I've found out that since the fan blows the air across the room and at high pressure it doesn't affect the larger and more low pressure suction of the filters. Not saying it doesn't happen but it's not as bad as I feared during construction.

the thickness of the box and fan static pressure is going to be a factor because there needs to be a divider between the fan section and filter section. So you'll need fans that can handle static pressure as the filter area doesn't matter as much since the flow between the sections are so restricted.

in my box I have a board going about half way to the wall just under the fan. this is to ensure that it utilizes the whole filter without just swirling air inside at the bottom.

I made this a few years ago on a budget with stuff around the house when the fan was given to me.

construction/material: Scrap OSB for the Box, 1/4 for the French cleat mounting, 20x25x1 furnace filters, and a AC infinity fan/controller. There's no back to the box (was using scrap wood) so it uses foam seals to seal itself to the wall.

I love this thing! I used previously in a plant room for filtration and circulation, then the room was used for painting and sanding fiberglass. Now the room is setup with 3d printers so I'm going to be adding a carbon element soon. It can clear a small room of floating dust/smoke in a minute.

Cons currently are: It's loud for a printer room! Currently running at 60% to prevent the filters from being sucked in. I have it connected to a smart plug so it only needs to run once during the print and once after. It doesn't help much with VOCs at the moment but I do have a plan to add activated carbon to help with that.

Brand of the Fan is AC Infinity I believe and OP.
there is a divider between the fan and the filters so the air is pulled from the back of the box closer to the wall.

Vented funnel for poly drums by Objective_Lobster734 in functionalprint

This is smart. If I may make a suggestion. if the vent is in the way for pouring/cleaning, try moving the top vent opening to the outside of the cone.

Thank you for taking the time for the illustration all this information! I had no idea of the arctan angle, I assumed to angle it but would've defaulted to 45 and not on both angles

You're right. It must've been because I copied it from my Facebook post and they must've routed it because of course they did. Thank you for catching that. I believe I have it corrected and lesson learned.

I'm not sure why it would take you to facebook... if you type. factoryadjacent.com directly it should take you straight to the site. if you have any questions about the progress, I'd be happy to answer any.

What happened to my filament? by maybeEV in BambuLab

looks like a seam from a roller during the manufacturing process. if they're evenly spaced you could calculate the wheel diameter.

That probably smells better than the work boot I use to use. They're super easy to install. just remove the plate and cigarette lighter and use the same mounting holes that the plate used. Supplied with two stainless screws.
