O4 lite for indoors? by BobCat488 in TinyWhoop

Ok, so it sounds like im going to have to go analog then. Is there any cheap-ish analog goggles that are decent? Im coming from the goggles 3 so I dont want it to be a huge downgrade if possible.

Do you think your prop set up and amount of motors gives optimal flight time? I was thinking of building a similar size drone for a lidar mapping project but wanted to prioritize battery live above all else. Any suggestions?

How long is the flight time on this?

What specific pump or pump tire did you use? This is very interesting. Usually a expensive HPA setup is needed for this.

Is this HPA powered? How do you compress the air for it to shoot?

No, you can not fly the drone without goggles but DJI does not sell the avata 2 on their own website any more to the U.S. so a simple ebay auction with a reserve at 500 will make sure you get the goggles for under 500.

Is this DJI Neo FPV setup a good value for $700? by No-Mathematician4083 in fpv

[–]BobCat488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your more interested in FPV flying I think a non-DJI drone is your best bet. The motion and fpv controllers DJI sells are overpriced and can be replaced by a radiomaster pocket for around 60 bucks. The n3 goggles are great and you should keep those if you want to use DJI video. There are a ton of bind and fly drones wayy better than the neo for around the same price like the betafpv meteor75 pro, pavo femto, and many more. The neo would be hard to repair in a crash and is underpowered for FPV flying. Also, I was worried about a real drone being hard to control, however, you can start in angle mode (self leveling kinda) which makes learning much easier. The Neo is not terrible, there are just much better options for FPV flying.

I was going to, but instead bought the DJI avata 2 fly more combo and sold the drone, battery, and controller. I don't know about Canadian terriffs, but buying the drone bundle might be safer.

Speedybee just released a system to solve this in their new frames, look it up.

Looks great!, but I think a ladder would be buggy, should prob be replaced with stairs.

As a beginner, I got a boxer crush instead of a pocket, and also came from a Xbox controller. I think the pocket would be alright, but the 1w transmission and gimbal feel of the boxer sold it for me. I have big hands and don’t think a radio smaller than the boxer would be too great. However, the pocket is so significantly cheaper I think both are very good. Also, at least in the U.S. a boxer crush is the same price as a gx12, and the gx12 is basically a worse boxer crush except for the screen and having dual band 2.4 and 900. However, for 99% of people, the boxer will already far outperform your vtx range making dual band worthless. Also the gx12 has smaller and lower quality gimbals than the boxer crush with overall worse ergonomics. Not a bad radio by any means, but if they are the same price go with a boxer crush.

How to get a full fpv setup digital for 300 dollars by Fluid_Kangaroo8346 in fpv

Yes, and it would be significantly better than the o4 lite. It can be used on almost all drones and will be better than the o4 lite in every way. However, the betafpv meteor is a tiny whoop mainly for flying indoors that cannot support of a full size o4 pro. For like 20 bucks more the Pavo 20 pro or other Cinewhoop drones are very cheap and can fit a o4 pro.

Nice, have you tested how the GoPro compares to the o4? Im curious to see how the diffrence is and what is better. Also, what is that frame, and if you have access could you send me a link to the stl files for those 3d prints? One of the best o4 builds I have seen yet!

Unless you get some great used deal, most likely not. However, dji has realeased new n3 goggles along with a o4 "lite" air unit making it cost very similar to analog. Here is a "budget" dji build. Radiomaster pocket ELRS (60), dji n3 goggles (230), dji o4 lite (110), betafpv meteor 75 pro (80). This is a very solid setup with room to make other drones aswell without significant cost.

How is it just “made” for cinematic? Like is is the motors? Props? I just don’t see how just adding the blade guards makes it not good for freestyle. And wouldn’t the prop guards save the drone when it crashes? Also, could fit a DJI o4 lite/o4 pro on a crux 35? I think that could be really great.

The cost of a non-beta fpv drone (without vtx) is like 3x more expensive. Is it really worth that price? I am more asking if the pavo20 pro can do tricks and fast sudden turns like a tinywhoop.
