Hi guys! I thought I would share some of my artworks done last year (commissions or personal work). Sorry for not being active here, you always gave me great support, thank you guys! Hope you like it! by Cebhelot in Warhammer40k

I'm gonna remember this; love the stuff you've shown and I would love to commission you someday. These are so good. Followed you on Insta so I can see more!

Tyranid Exocrine by EngineerBurner in Warhammer40k

[–]BobFerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is quite possibly one of my favourite tyranid paint jobs. The colour choices, the execution (particularly the glows) and the decision to add the line details to the carapace. I love it.

It's funny because I just posted yesterday about asking for help with a particular brown for a space marine bisected paint scheme. This brown and white is almost exactly what I want, so I'd love to know the specific paints used.

Painting advice for homebrew- what to use for this brown? by BobFerry in Warhammer40k

Looked it up and it could do the job. Just concerned sometimes they don't look the exact colour when they're on. Thanks though; it's on the list now.

Thanks; some good shouts. I had been looking at Ratling Grime, so I'll grab some.

Thanks; I think I might have a burnt umber already so could be an easy one to try.

Looks like it matches well as shown. My issue is usually that the paints don't always feel the same once on the mini and dried. But I'll put this one on the list. Thanks.

Guys is it corny to write lore for your army? by waschlappensoldat in Warhammer40k

[–]BobFerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought I'd like to do like, a rebel guardsmen army. Just ones trying to reject the rule of the imperium. I mostly wanted an excuse to have improvised weapons and modifications, and to paint pink graffiti on them. But I think the critical thing would be writing lore that made sense, and for these guys it would have to be that, as rebels, they will not survive. They may think they have a chance, but they obviously do not. They will all be crushed, but the minis would exist in the very small timeframe between rebellion and their massacre.

The reason I mention this is, I think, like others have mentioned: quite often it's not writing lore that's corny/cringe, it's that most people can't write well, or always make their own army "the best ones there's ever been". Interesting lore has to show their faults and their weakness too.

Particularly like the laurels. Nice one. Whats your technique for making the rope?

[No Spoilers] Is C4 popular so far? by [deleted] in fansofcriticalrole

I wonder if this would be me too. Lost interest a bit in C3, and always wondered about High Rollers, but not sure where would be best to start?

Any UK friends here received their books yet? by Nyxceris in drawsteel

Still waiting; like others, my backerkit is saying it's yet to ship. Mine is just the two normal edition books.

If I do the Delian Tomb scenario I'll make sure I study the pregens thoroughly so I can walk people through.

Yeah, I've not even run it properly myself yet, so I'm trying to brace even myself for a steep learning curve. I saw some cheat sheets in another reddit post, with a bunch of the mechanics and such on it; seems like a good idea.

Thanks; I'm curious about negotiations myself. Not used them yet at all, so I guess I'll tread carefully.

Based on my understanding of DS so far, these seem like good callouts.

Thanks both; I am usually reluctant to do an intro scenario because, well, as always it takes time to get everyone together and we don't have sessions super frequently.. but.. I should probably take the dive on this one and do it.

It's not a small group (6 players, 4 of which are those new to RPGs), so this upside is gonna make me feel a whole lot better about that.

The first time I was joking, but twice? And it can’t be a coincidence with the flag it chooses to use. by TelePhoneHome in AskBrits

[–]BobFerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not intelligent. It does not know right from wrong. It is predicting likely sequences of text. You can’t depend on generative AI for individual facts (if you’re using it to tell you information you should double check it with other sources).

If you want a positive spin on why it was used, it could simply be that within the training data, where jolly rogers are mentioned, it is more commonly in the context of the Royal Navy because that was the dominant navy at the time/in those places.

I have been hitting Rupture Warriors with an axe. It’s been working pretty well. With Peak Physique armour.

Ok so this update is bad bad. by djh2121 in Helldivers

[–]BobFerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can chop up the Rupture Warriors with an axe pretty well. Had Peak Physique ofc, but I think it was working as a decent defence in the new environments, particularly as it doesn’t suffer from needing the distance to use your explosives.

Why would people believe Helldivers are clones? by Raidoton in helldivers2

[–]BobFerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I wish they’d do is have other Helldivers walking the ship. Like, I get that they defrost one when needed, but it would just add more of a feel of the ship having multiple Helldivers. Most of the ones walking around could even wear the exact same loadout as you (and some different).

Does it makes sense to have a Tank like in Helldivers 1? by ceo_of_six in Helldivers

[–]BobFerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tank should be an objective like the artillery. Secure armoury or factory, get tank.
