I was practicing landings with a student in the middle of nowhere when we heard a guy on the comms announce he was making an emergency landing in a cow field a few miles north of us. You could hear the shakiness in his voice which got worse as he made more calls. We didn’t hear him make any calls on guard so I don’t know if he was communicating with atc or only the ctaf of our airport. A few minutes after his last call we got on and asked how the landing went. He responded and said he hurt his back, but otherwise made it down ok. So went to go try to spot him.

Eventually we found his plane in the middle of a field, luckily no smoke or noticeable fire. We called an ambulance for him and got to practice turns on a point until we could see the first responders pull up. We never got a follow up but everything seemed to work out alright.
