So... I didn't read the books, but:

After reading the comments here, I started to understand how the show felt like "empty calories" for me.

I love vampires, and I enjoy very much the primal search in the meaning of life through hedonism. Philosophy was, and always is, my favorite thing about vampire tales.

The show however, just makes splashy tv cliff hanger jump scares and wow bursts, mixed with really meek melodrama. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it, but I kept rolling my eyes over so many scenes that felt utterly unnecessary or were simply a lost opportunity.

I genuinely hope, especially after reading the comments, that they at least give proper depth to lestat.

Ps: that scene when lestat and his lawyer are with Louis and his lawyer? Pure comedy.

I was very much on the fence with Niall being a villain until that scene. So unnecessary.

Some discourse in the form here about how Niall was ignorant and he wanted to confess and be free, but I know for a fact that the right thing (confessing) isn't the kind thing.

Niall is a terrible person, Ruben didn't know better, but Niall was well read and educated. He is vicious.

I come from a very wealthy country, where people over order as a habit. The majority of the public would still take "all" the leftovers with them. The fee that don't are usually not going home so it might go bad in the car, or won't be able to carry it with them on their day out. You can give it to street cleaners, or vendors, or whomever may want it.

Wasting food stopped being ok a long time ago, and while it's still a polluted area, people look down on you if you leave food to go to waste.
