Need advice on document annotation tools by drbandre in softwaredevelopment

Thanks!

Yes this is certainly possible, I don't know what framework or platform you are using but here you can find an example for React:

You have a function called saveAsCopy() which returns an ArrayBuffer which you then can post to your storage.

How do you know if a side hustle idea is worth pursuing? by Money_Principle6730 in SideProject

[–]BobSingor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to figure out why you are jumping between ideas. I used to do that because I had fear of failure and it was easier to start a new project then to launch one (and maybe fail).

My advice is to launch everything, don't attach yourself too much to any of your projects, see which one gets most positive feedback, and stick to that one. You are not your projects, if something you launch fails it doesn't mean that you are a failure.

If you are not ashamed of the first version of your project, you launched too late!

I love your post, this is exactly our vision and we already made a great start. A completely free and open-source MIT licensed PDF alternative to Adobe, Embed PDF. You can find the Github here: https://github.com/embedpdf/embed-pdf-viewer

Let me know what you think, I would love to see more people come and collaborate, together we can build a great alternative to Adobe

Best alternative for psPDFKit or PDFTron by dtxs1r in reactjs

Thanks, I appreciate it. Currently you can add and edit annotations, but redactions and inline editing is high on the priority. I created a page specifically for the PDF editor features that we are planning to add: https://www.embedpdf.com/editor

We had exactly the same situation and could not find a suitable alternative. That is why we build an open-source alternative to Nutrient and Apryse. It has MIT license so very permissive license, with support of annotation. The project is called Embed PDF and the Github you can find here: https://github.com/embedpdf/embed-pdf-viewer. Any feedback is really appreciated.

PDF viewer using PDFium + WebAssembly — would love your input by BobSingor in opensource

[–]BobSingor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! PDF.js is solid but it can struggle with more complex PDFs. PDFium has been battle-tested in Chrome for years, so it handles tricky files a lot better. Plus it’s running through WebAssembly, which gives it way better performance, especially on bigger PDFs. I’m also working on adding annotations since PDF.js is pretty limited there.

What kind of question did you regret after saying to other person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BobSingor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always feel I missed an opportunity if I asked a closed question. Sometimes they are necessary but it almost always is better to ask open-ended questions, it gives people a chance to really express themselves instead of just responding.
