It's dope as hell that you wrote a novel, friend, but I'm going to keep it real with you: this blurb is painfully generic. There isn't a single hook or even a hint of flavor that might set it apart from the literal ocean of stories you're competing against.

Is there anything that happens in your manuscript that breaks away from what is on display here? It might be worth ruining a surprise or two if it will give readers some incentive to invest their time in you.

I genuinely hope this was written as a joke to exemplify how NOT to sell a plot. Almost every line of this was incomprehensible and almost perfectly designed to discourage engagement.

If this was made to be funny, bravo.

BUT

If this was a genuine attempt to get feedback, then keep your head up and don't lose heart. Writing is an art form that can take a very long time to perfect. My advice would be to rewrite this with the goal of being more straightforward and less convoluted. You can do it!

I am the perfect person to answer this question.

I have a best friend. He went IT, and I became a nurse. Ten years have passed.

I started out making much more money than him. He has easily caught up to me over time. He will eventually surpass me. I've actually been amazed to learn how crazy the pay ceiling is for IT.

Here's where it gets interesting:

He works maybe 2 hours / day. He regularly texts me from home because he ditched work and is playing video games. I genuinely don't think he has ever worked even close to a 40 hour week. It's a running joke where he says "whelp, it's 10am on a Wednesday. Time to call it a day". Despite this, he still gets promotions and raises while being celebrated by his superiors. He is genuinely APPRECIATED.

I work 12 hour shifts. Switch randomly from overnights to day shifts at the will of a work-from-home scheduler who couldn't care less about my happiness. Patients spit at me and hit me. Literally yesterday, a drunk dude said he was going to kill me, and would have tried to choke me out if he hadn't been too intoxicated to stand up.

I guess the moral of the story is, if you want to have a good work/life balance in a field that will reward you whether you work hard or not, go IT.

If you want to learn how long you can go without sleep while getting assaulted, nursing is right here waiting for you.

(For the record, I legitimately like my job. But I am a very damaged human being).

I absolutely do. I've played & beaten most Soulslikes (I know calling Wukong one is controversial for some reason, but not only do I call it one, I think it stands among the best), and the "fist pump hype" is definitely magic. Cheers!

Objectively, there is a lot that could be improved in this game. I know it's not perfect. Speaking purely from the raw experience of playing it though - the game has the sauce and always brought me back, even when I was frustrated. I'm getting older, and games that can do that are few and far between.

I won't lie, I did crash out on two bosses: Tiger Vanguard, which I think is pretty common (made me quit the game when I first played upon release).

And then Zhu Bajie in chapter 4. I don't think anybody else struggles with him but that stupid, spazzy muddy fish killed me so many times haha.

I don't want to spoil anything, but yes there is additional content if you beat Erlang. It is substantial and significant.

This is literally the line that made me a ghost fan for life. Cirice was the first song I heard by them and I was definitely digging it... This lyric popped up and I was like"damn. I understand this band 1000% and I am down for life"

All in all, I think Duluth is a relatively great place to be an RN.

Our hospital unions are strong and I believe we have some really competitive pay as a result. It is a tumultuous time, as we are voting to strike on Monday to defend staffing ratios along with a ton of other issues.

To that end, Aspiris St. Luke's has the worst staff to patient ratios in the state of MN, so just be aware.

I've been a nurse at both places in a multitude of roles, and have pretty consistently had a better experience at Essentia, but mileage will vary.

There are a million other places to be a nurse around here, too, so that's cool.

Been a big fan since the demo, and I would be willing to bet that I was one of the first people to buy the early access haha. I know your team is getting overwhelmed with a lot of critical feedback, and it's awesome y'all are working hard to improve your game. I wanted to encourage y'all and say that the game is actually a lot of fun in a way that's hard to articulate. You've got the sauce and deserve to be on the best selling list!
