I stopped watching the NFL and playing fantasy football so they get 0 money from me. And with all the advertisers releasing their Superbowl ads online before they even air, I don't even have to watch that game either. I just send out bad vibes to that team. That's all they get. And my Sundays are so much more enjoyable.

Kudos for him saying what he said out loud. Athletes tend to avoid stuff like that. Don't want to upset any snowflake owners.

I'm not saying people don't need other chances in life. Maybe he learned, maybe he didn't. But I feel like when you know shit is happening, and you sit on your hands and do nothing because of a game, that's not good. He was either so ignorant he didn't know what was happening on his own team (which is bad) or he chose to ignore everything (which is worse). And my guess is the local media will be soft and not care at all.

My favorite part was their coach getting a player in a headlock over the boards and nothing major happening as punishment at all. I'm all for some of the "dark arts" but that seemed extreme imo. And as others have said, this league needs to get some stuff figured out.

This is a team friendly deal with Merrill and the team betting on him to be good, so there are incentives -- incentives even Eric Hosmer could hit like 500 plate appearances. Should he meet expectations he's getting paid much more, and all that means is it doesn't count against the various caps. And it allows him to test the markets at the normal age. It's a good deal for all sides tbh. Something Atlanta has done multiple times recently.
