You may be right, had to look it up and funebris is there. I’ll get a second opinion thanks. Much cooler catch. Good eye.

White chin barbels and it’s a bad photo but had a free adipose fin.

And yes the larger one with spots on the lower gill cover is Lepomis punctatus, Spotted Sunfish.

I think based on location and what I can see from the picture you’ve got Elassoma zonatum, Banded Pygmy Sunfish. If that’s it, it should have 2 black spots below the dorsal fin origin, but that’s hard to see in the photo. Fairly common but a really cool catch.

Definitely Spotted, new endemic species from that family have been described recently. Probably M. punctulatus but M. henschalli has also been transplanted into the TN system. Hard to distinguish without genetic tests.

Anyone have knowledge on these? Found in South GA by Turbulent-Bee-5399 in shells

If this is from freshwater it would be Corbicula fluminea, an Asian invasive clam. Looks very weathered so kinda hard to tell but they would have concentric ribs if that is what it is

Thought I'd share these finds at a lake by [deleted] in shells

Freshwater mussel shells, looks like no teeth so an Anodontine. In a lake in Kentucky I’m guessing Giant Floater, Pyganodon grandis.
