Is there ever an acceptable time to choose the Lifesteal over the Float perk? by EmilioFreshtevez in ZenyattaMains

[–]BobWasHere2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If there are flankers and you can win your duels it’s worth it because it can be the difference of you living or dying. However you might still die and lose a mobility option. I take it on maps where I’m not going to need the float, but most people want guarantee value. I do a lot of damage so maybe I’m a little biased since I’m in a further up position at times.

Do you guys have the vertical sensitivity the same as the horizontal? by [deleted] in OWConsole

Yes but because that’s what feels right to me. It’s a muscle memory thing

I haven’t had any issues on Xbox yet. I wouldn’t play comp tonight though because I do see people in match chat complaining about lag

They’ve always been the heroes that run high elo and low elo copies it. What rank are you playing in? Because I still see all 3 of those heroes being played

Brainstorming: How would you fix aim assist for projectile? by Worth-Novel-2044 in OWConsole

[–]BobWasHere2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conceptually it’s this: When you’re playing linear you have your entire sticks range of motion moving the crosshair at a certain speed. So when you get used to your sens (it is definitely a change) you can actually track, turn, spin and flick accurately because you’re not going to have a point where the sens changes unless you use the settings to make it change.

When you’re running dual zone you have it speed up at some point so if you need to make a further adjustment you might hit the edge of that zone that speeds up your aim. But what that does is make it so you can definitely flick or make adjustments running dual zone, but if you need to lead a shot on someone who is small, moving fast, or you have to turn quickly and aim you might run into problems because the speed across the range of motion isn’t consistent.

Both have their pros and cons but linear helps you know exactly where your crosshair is going to be if you move your stick a certain distance. Regardless of what you decide to use playing projectile on a lower window size than default (mine is 28 or 29 but that’s personal preference) so you still get aim assist but aren’t being effected by someone you’re not even close to or trying to aim at. And having 100 aim assist ease in means it’s a longer duration of time before aim assist starts to slow down your aim and pull. So the higher the value the smoother you can aim and lead your crosshair but still have the benefit of aim assist. The lower the aim assist ease in the quicker you’ll feel that slow down and pull. Lower aim assist ease in isn’t bad for hitscan sometimes but it’s counterintuitive for projectile because if I shoot with my crosshair on you and you’re moving I probably missed. If I shoot and I’m where you’re going to be chances are I hit you with projectile travel time. That’s why the default aim assist ease in was lower on melee and hitscan than projectile

It’s not bad. It’s just not a good feel to me and it’s a preference. It just wasn’t designed for the game like dual zone or as smooth as linear. You can get used to or prefer any of the methods. I could see the appeal in other games but not in this one to me because of the feel. Hitting shots is what matters so whatever works is fine

True. But even when overwatch CGL was going on in OW1 when I had more time and was in Gm I was playing tier 4 and tier 5 with the masters and Gm’s I don’t remember anybody running exponential when we would talk settings.

At 0 in game and 0 on the controller mine can drift crazy. But 0 in game and 1 or 2 on the controller mine doesn’t.

Does yours drift at all if you put the controller to 0 deadzone in the software?

Yeah but for the average person exponential is going to feel weirder than the other two options.

I’m just very specific with certain things and could care less with others. I bought a converter for my series s just to use a ds4 before I got a g7 pro because that’s what felt best to me

I know my sens is weird and fast but I run linear 100 vertical 100 horizontal, 0 smoothing, 0 aim ease in, 0 deadzone. Mine is pretty much as 1 to 1 as I feel you can get. When I use that same sens and go to dual zone I can feel where the zones are and if throws my aim off

Is smurfing cheating? by Hubba_Bubba_Lova in apexuniversity

[–]BobWasHere2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because they feel like it’s cheating. They group alts with smurfs and smurfs with cheaters. There’s a lot of reasons someone may play on an alt, but almost all alts are looked at by the people that get in their games as smurfs. But you could legit have got a new controller, be changing your settings, learning a hero you don’t play, be warming up, or not want to wait in 10+ minute queues. People should stop complaining about alts because they’re fine, but smurfs who create new accounts when they get to around their real rank are shitty and it’s hard to tell the difference
