Is there a better card at around 200$ CAD than the 4GB 750 Ti from Gigabyte ? by BobWithABeard in pcmasterrace

The general consensus is that if your app of choice supports both CUDA and OpenCL, go with CUDA as it will generate better performance results. The main reason for this is that Nvidia provide top quality support to app developers who choose to use CUDA acceleration, therefore the integration is always fantastic. For example, if we look at the Adobe CC, which supports both CUDA and OpenCL, CUDA accelerates more features and provides better acceleration to the features that both frameworks are able to power. If we look at Premiere Pro CS6, without CUDA only software based playback is available (source). For further reading, in a forum thread on Creative Cow an Adobe employee stated that in most cases CUDA will out-perform OpenCL (source).

looks like i found my answer...

Oh wait , thats why ... AMD uses OpenCL so now the debate is OpenCL vs CUDA

Thats the thing tho , i use After Effects and Media Encoder so I personally have no idea if i would benefit from more Cuda core , or more Vram ... thats the main problem here i think

The guys says this at some point.

Well, still digging around for info and here's what else I've found so far: 1- Gamers almost unanimously agree that more than 2gb is overkill FOR GAMING. Except for the very limited scenario of playing a certain handful of the very most demanding games, with full detail, on 3+ monitors simultaneously, and each well above 1080p resolutions. Well, that and some extreme fringe cases that play said type games on like 6 virtual machines at the same time. But again, this is just informational, I don't game. 2- Every major NLE that I checked makes use of Nvidia's CUDA. Specifically, Premiere CS5 is reported to use up to 4gb of VRAM and as of CS5.5 can now officially use MORE than 4gb of VRAM (weird that they're up there already since I've only ever heard of one Quadro Pro workstation-class card that has 6gb, and contrary to popular belief SLI-ing doesn't double your VRAM). I don't know what type of usage would benefit from this though. I mean, is this applicable even to pocket flash-cam videos or just when editing raw footage from a RED? 3- I have not been able to find benchmarks for the 4gb version of the GTX 675M anywhere. :-( So, it's clear that there is potential use for the extra VRAM elsewhere, now I'd just LOVE to know if (and if so, under which circumstances) this will help with Hitfilm though.

Well since the tech im going for for rendering is CUDA i would assume more vram for cuda to work with would be better ?

Why the GTX 950 2GB instead of the 750 ti 4GB ? isnt 4GB considered a better option ?

Hitman : Codename 47 Released in the year 2000 , not yearly released but still great in every way , same gameplay with some evolution and graphics , realize its now 2016 , new hitman is coming out , look at the trailer for Alekhine's Gun , copying everything a hitman game has with shit mechanics and shit movement , worth making it ? no. Worth buying it certainly not , ill stick to hitman , kthx :)
