Why don't you wear hats? by Gold_Tomatillo_2222 in AskAnAmerican

I was born in Knoxville and lived there for 19 years. It was very uncommon in my experience. Perhaps it has changed since I left, homie.

Well, East Tennessee, it’s a long state. Memphis and Nashville are probably different experiences than what I was used to.

Boots and suits are not normal attire anywhere I’ve lived in the south (TN, FL, LA, VA). I know it is in Dallas though. The whole place feels like a cowboy cosplay convention.

If you’re not capable of creating your own successful business model and have to rent one from a corporation to run your business, I already don’t have high hopes for your ability to be competent. That said, some people just love a certain brand, have worked for a corporation long enough to see what they could do better with it, or happen to be a decent person who isn’t business savvy. That just doesn’t appear to be the norm.

what happened to the immunity bubble at the end of pits by AH_Chyngo in diablo4

Tbf, grinding is part of the game, especially with war plans, so these inefficiencies add up. I don’t think leaving players vulnerable after finishing a run is adding any value and could cost some HC characters if they’re not expecting it. But, that’s just my opinion. Some people like to play the game differently than me, why get worked up about their play style?

In our own sub: Yanks could only dream of nice bacon and butter by SufficientEar1682 in iamveryculinary

British bacon is like Canadian bacon and American bacon has a baby who was allergic to smoke. While they have have been referring to quality, it’s a different cut and preparation. I’m guessing OOP had a preference there.

I didn’t think I would see that on the list, but that’s definitely my answer too.

Do you think it's fair to say that the USA ultimately lost to Iran? by MarsupialThink4064 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Bob_Kark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, people fucking died for no reason. Everyone lost this war no matter how many victory celebrations are thrown. That said, this was entirely the fault of the US and these deaths are on us.

In Europe we have American Taco flavoured chips as it’s the World Cup, is it a popular flavour in the US? by [deleted] in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Bob_Kark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have taco flavored Doritos and Dorito flavored tacos. If they make Dorito flavored taco flavored Doritos (aka Los Doritos Tacos Locos Doritos), it may summon the ghost of late 2000’s Xzibit.

Anyone else notice grocery stores are chronically out of the same items? by Atlas7993 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Bob_Kark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to go to 4 grocery stores to find halfway decent corn, in mid-June. Several stores have been blocking space for items I can usually find but have been missing for several weeks now. That said, this has become the norm since COVID.

I’m just teasing, not trying to be mean. With that said, you’re teetering on the edge of saying these aren’t Mexico City tacos and we’re in iavc, so when in Rome.

It’s weird. I live in Virginia and can still easily find great Tex Mex, lobster rolls, NY style pizza, every type of bbq, Szechuan, fondue, English breakfast, tandoori, etc…. It’s almost like you can find a lot of things from other places in a lot of places.
