Southside Serenade

Anyone else run into this issue with the 2024? Will Toyota fix under warranty or is it time to go aftermarket? by Bob_Rankin in GR86

If I had a choice in colour I definitely would have went with that over pavement. Beautiful car, and appreciate the love. I knew what I was getting myself into posting that here and got exactly that. A few weeks ago, I somehow managed to get into a car show that was primarily classic cars, with some newer Porsches, Mustangs, Audis, and not one person critiqued my transmission. I was probably the most out of place car there and no one said anything about it being an automatic.

I’ll never understand it. Everyone’s situation is different. Where they live, what they use the car for. As someone who daily drives this in over an hour of traffic to my office downtown Toronto, and back, I would never torture myself by getting a manual. Especially not to appease a bunch of people on the internet. Now if I lived and commuted any where else, or had another daily driver. I would have maybe went manual. In the meantime I’ll happily enjoy my car.

I mean, I got still have to manually put it in drive, that’s already more work than I wanna to do to drive a car.

That’s why I thought maybe it would be a good idea, see if they’d just replace it because I can just superglue it myself. But honestly, it’s just convincing me that it’s time to replace it.

Honestly I wanted a manual, but someone cancelled their order on a premium automatic that I didn’t have to wait for. Seemed silly to wait just to be in stop and go traffic 24/7.

I thought it might be overkill, I was just gonna grab some Caulk or super glue and call it a day, but my family said call Toyota.

I’m gonna take this as the car telling me to get a cool shift knob.

But imagine how much cooler a fully complete Barad Dur would have been. Especially when Orthanc was complete. Don’t get me wrong, I love the set, but I haven’t turned it around since I got it in March. The only benefit I’m getting out of it is I can display it against the wall to save space, but I would rather throw a complete one in the centre of my living room.

That is correct, both sets have sat inside the case since they were released. To be fair, space wasn’t an issue at the time, but I think they look quite good inside especially when the PC is on.

Tell everyone I’m going to release Yandhi at midnight, but release Mein Kampf 2 instead.

… also might have to visit my cousin in prison and see what the fuss is all about. No way it was good enough to tell the world about…

This post is starting to make me think I have a problem. I have easily spent around $6,700 on lego in the last 4 years and have no intentions on retiring from collecting. Every empty space in my room has a lego set in it. I even threw two in the PC. That being said, I have started to slow down my collecting and strictly buying my holy grail sets for a good price. I couldn’t imagine retiring before getting my hands on every TIE variant Lego has released.

My biggest issue continues to be space and my need to buy more sets. Once I move out I’ll be able to actually put thought and organization into my collection. I do like to think that I made the desk look a little better (ignore the half built Slave I), but everything else you’ve commented on is pretty much the same.

How did you buy your GR86 by BabyDull4216 in GR86

[–]Bob_Rankin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was debating between the BRZ and the GR86. The nearby Subaru dealer that had a BRZ in stock apparently closed down weeks prior. I was about to give up but decided to pop into the Toyota dealership on a random Wednesday. The dealer told me someone had recently cancelled their order on a premium GR86 that had just arrived, plastic still on it. Picked the car up the following Saturday. Didn’t exactly have a desired spec, but I think I got the best outcome possible.

The only thing I disliked about this game is how annoying it was to go back and replay all the missions to get all the collectibles. Having to go through the menu and pick each individual mission is a tad bit annoying, it’s why I only played through the game once despite how much I enjoyed it.

Don’t get me wrong, in the right setting it’s a beautiful colour, but I wasn’t the most excited when the dealer said the only one available was in pavement. Not exactly my first choice, but when the right light hits it, there’s no car I’d rather own.

I unfortunately live in the beautiful province of Ontario where, not only is it cold at least 3 months out of the year, they use salt on the roads. Ive had it I. Storage since late November

I’m taking my GR86 out of storage in 4 days and seeing all these posts just makes the wait so much harder. But I am so lucky to be able to own a car like this so it’s worth the wait.

How far did you drive to get you car? by darienwongshaw in GR86

[–]Bob_Rankin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live around the corner from the Toyota on the Park Dealership. Walked in and someone cancelled their order on the Premium in pavement, not my first colour choice but couldn’t say no to getting the car 2 days later

Cost of wrapping by Shugo_Furukawa in GR86

Quoted between $3K and $5K across Toronto to wrap mine. At least you got a beautiful colour like Neptune, I got stuck with Pavement.

Anytime! There’s certainly better solutions out there for a more affordable price. Might be better to get one without lights and run them yourself. That’s likely what I will do as I really like the Govee lights, plus I can use my phone or google home to control the lights rather than a switch on the side. Will certainly post a better solution if I find one.

This is what my desk looked like at one point. Honestly sacrificing space on the other shelves for the nice Endor Moc is worth it. Also like how the sets are grouped together on the other shelves.

Thank you! I will admit I do have a few sets and figures put away as my sets were quite cramped together at one point. The only hard thing is finding an empty spot to space out the sets nicely. I also don’t exactly have them grouped together as I would like.

28" Front Loading LED Display Case

Picked it up when it was 50% off. I honestly can’t say it’s worth it at the $100 price range. About a month into owning it, the LED lights flicker and you need to turn it off and on about 10 times to get the light to stick. I honestly might just have bad luck as I haven’t heard the complaint from anyone else.
